Hi Steemians!

I am freaking excited to be able to finally make my first post on Steemit !!! I have been waiting for ages for my Steemit account to be approved. And now, it's finally time for me to make my first appearance here.

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your interest in reading my introductory post.

My name is Erica.

I work both in front and behind the camera ! Yes, I am a part-time model and a photographer.
Here are some of my modelling images.

To me, Steemit is an extremely good platform for me to share both my modelling work and photography work with people who are passionate about photography. I am going to share mostly my photography work in Steemit (unless you want to see my modelling images? ***shy shy) as I want my Steemit to be really focused on photography.

A little bit about myself and how I stumbled upon photography and fell in love with it.

I was born in a small town in Malaysia called Kluang. Along the way, I went to a rather prestigious university in London. When everyone expected me to get a good career upon graduation, which I did, I know deep down inside that doing a 9am-6pm corporate job for years is not a life I want.

Some people, for the sake of getting a living, forget to live. “I don’t want to live such a meaningless life, I want to make a living with my real passion,” I told myself countless times. Therefore, I tried hard to identify what my real passion is. You know what, it is no exaggeration to say that identifying your real passion is harder than climbing the tallest mountain in the world.

Fortunately, it was during a family trip that I discovered my passion for photography. The setting was at the most romantic city in the world, yeah you guess it right, I am talking about Paris. It was my parents’ first visit to Paris. They were absolutely excited and were both mesmerized by the beauty of the Eiffel Tower. I took out my camera and began directing my parents to pose in front of the tower. The photos were incredible and they had so much love that I wanted to scream. FYI, my parents are not the usual lovey-dovey couple you might think they are! The photos sort of remind them how loving they can still be after many years of marriage. We had loads of fun taking pictures and I had loads of fun making them do poses only the youngsters do. Looking at the photos, I realize I really enjoy capturing the loving moments of a loving couple. Some of these moments are priceless and genuine love is simply unfakable.

Since then, I have decided to start a photography project. I started planning this project since November 2017 and finally I am ready to do this. It is my duty as a photographer to ignite or re-ignite the love between a couple and help them keep those moments forever. My goal for my photography is simple – to capture the sweetest moments for the right couples. Not only that, I also want to build a long-lasting and genuine relationships with all the couples that I have worked with.

To me, every couple/model is unique in that they all have different charisma and different stories to tell. Therefore, my approach to a photoshoot is to create a story for them based on the feeling they give me. I want to bring out the uniqueness in them. I want each and every of my photography project to be unique in its own way.

For the initial phase of my photography project, I am going to focus more on model/couple shoots and once I become more experienced, I am aiming do to engagement or even actual wedding shoots. I am going to share with all of you my photography journey from when I was still a complete beginner to where I am currently at. I am also going to share useful tips with aspiring photographers out there who are just starting out like me.

I am so excited to be a part of this great community. I really hope I can create good photography work and good content that can help provide values to people who are using this platform. I hope you enjoy reading my first post. Stay tuned for my next post as I am going to share with you photos from my first ever photoshoot.
