Hi Steemit! I'm Eve - Author, Traveler and Dreamer from Germany

in #introduceyourself7 years ago

Writing this post seems to be the most challenging one for me.
This is my third version :D

So here we go:

Hello Steem community,

I'm Eve, 32 years old and a German author, blogger and lateral thinker.

For the last ten years, I spend a lot of time abroad. I lived in Australia, Thailand, and Bali. I have been a digital nomad for about four years now. For a long time, I wanted to write in English, but I did not dare to do it. So please excuse me if my English is not perfect :)

I love to travel. It's one of my biggest passions. It changed me, made me a better person, challenged me and made me think outside the box.
My other passion is writing (so far just in German). I published two books and I'm running a Blog called https://modernhippie.de for 4.5 years (omg..time is running so fast :D ).
Beside of that I love to do Yoga, eat fresh food, meditate, receive and give energy healing, dance, sing and read. I'm pretty much into all of this stuff as it opened my eyes and my heart.

Before I started living a free life (out of my sight) I completely failed according to social norms. As a teenager, I began to question everything. The school did not make sense to me. After school, I worked in an office. And ten months later, I quit because I felt like a zombie. After that, I thought I had found my freedom at the university. Wrong thought.
I left Uni before graduating because I was f*cking depressed. I tried to fit in and make all people around me happy...just not myself. I missed something inside of me: the freedom to be myself, follow my heart and live a life according to my desires.

Why am I here?

I had this strong feeling that 2018 will be very different than 2017. It will bring something exciting and new. I decided to do a Yoga teacher training later this year and a course in Design to design my own books. I really love beautiful books!!!
But I felt that there is something else coming up for me.
I talked to a friend about cryptocurrency (which is still a new world for me) and then @DennisKoray popped up in my head. He told me of Steemit and I started my research. @Kaschi11 helped me out with some information for the beginning..and here I am.
I was thrilled and happy that there is a community like this!

It's still tricky for me to understand how Steemit works..but I'll get there :)

What will I write about?

Well the Hippie inside of me believes in a better world and that we should help each other. Then the rebel inside of me thinks "fuck the system"! We are being controlled and lied to so much and it becomes more and more difficult to see the truth.

So I guess it will be a mix of "how to follow your heart" and "Aliens are watching over us" :D :D
And the daily stuff like Yoga, amazing food, meditation, travel, workshops, and thoughts.

I will try to post every day because I know the healing effect of writing from the soul. It's like magic.
It's heart opening. It's showing who you really are. It has changed my whole life and I'm super thankful for that!
So let's inspire, motivate, educate and help each other.

I'm happy to be a part of this community and I hope that I can add some value!
And I'm looking forward to Steem Meetups and Steemfest.

Love,

welcome (:

Thank you :)

Hi Eve, and welcome to Steemit!

Sounds like you have a pretty interesting life going, and Steemit will definitely be a great community in which to share some of your thoughts and experiences.

Your English is very good; we tend to learn early in Europe. English is not my first language either, but it has been my primary one for writing for many years... you get used to it pretty fast.

Hope you enjoy your time here with us!

Hah! Look at us choosing to pick the same people to chat to. Our ideals truly do align my friend :)

Hello @denmarkguy
thank you! :) I hope to get used to it pretty fast. So far it just feels a bit out of my comfort zone. But that's ok.
I see you moved from Denmark to the US. I like your profile/blog..it seems to align with my interests. And I'm thinking of moving to the US too :)

Trying to fit in was my normal as a teenager and twenty-something young man. Now I like to fly free like the wind!

You sound a lot like my journey, except my awakening happened in my late 20's lol.

It's probably a good sign not to fit in :) And flying free like the wind is the best!

Hahahaha...I think there is an awakening every day, week, month or year. It's always like "Oh now I understood life" and then there is the next layer to learn and understand :D

Yep! Every day is a new day of wonder I say :)

welcome of steemit ! we wait of the next great post from @e-v-e

Thank you :)))

Upvoted! welcome to the platform hope you like it and will do well!
Great story and introduction, always like to connect with travel-minded people.
I traveled for four years and blog about it now, for now back in Amsterdam, but promissed myself to go on the road again, looking into how to become a digital nomad as wee speak.

will keep an eye out for your posts, hope you like it

Dank u wel @heyitshaas :)
Amsterdam is a great city. Been there pretty often as I'm from the west part of Germany.
I hope you enjoy your time over there before you head off again.
Becoming a digital nomad is pretty easy nowadays If you have any questions let me know :)

mabye i do need some tips to become a digital nomad. what do you do in order to keep being on the road?

I can make a living from the sales of my first book. But before that, I was earning money with my blog, writing posts for corporate blogs, worked for another blogger. But there are so many possibilities nowadays..even as a virtual assistant, social media manager, designer,....Don't what your professional background is

I studied Communcations, but not strong Digitally. will think about my next move, if I need some help I will ask you for sure, just really need to travel again

I warmly welcome. More of such positive people on steemit!

Welcome to Steemit @e-v-e!

Hi there Eve! Welcome! Really enjoyed that read, thank you. I am particularly envious of you travelling so much. I have just read Vagabonding by Rolf Potts and have plans now to set my next few years up with as many 3-6 month stints in different places; wherever my heart feels like going really.

Interested to hear how Thailand was like to live? How long was your stay?

I look forward to the future hippie posts ✌

Peace :)

Yiannis
