Hey there steemit :) - 23 year old math student from Zurich, Switzerland here :)

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi there steemit ! Welcome to my first post :)
I have to be honest, it took me a while to write an introduction about myself, none the less here it goes:

My name is Dennis, however my friends call me "shushi" , similar to the Japanese dish, however, it is a nickname derived from my surname. So you can feel free to call me that. I am 23 years old and live in a small village near the city of Zurich in Switzerland. My dad is Canadian and my mom is Swiss, so I speak the languages German and English. The guy on the right is me :) The little girl on the left is my cousin. The cool thing is, that we have our birthday on the same day. She loves taking pictures and I'm sure she will be a big photographer in the future.

A bit about myself

I am a big family person and love doing things with my relatives. I also love to travel and to take pictures of my adventures. As a student I know it can be hard to travel on a small budget, however I got a lot of experience and tricks how to travel threw Europe (e.g Switzerland , Spain, Italy and so on) on a small budget. So if you guys are interested in that I'll gladly share my tricks here on steemit.

I recently bought myself a 360-Camera and must admit it's so cool how much you can see on those pictures. This one I took on one of my recent travel adventures in Milano, Italy.

What are my hobbies?

I am a huge fan of seeing new places, getting to know the culture and going on adventures. To be honest, I can also be a bit geeky. I love board games, riddles, drones and in general electronic gadgets. One of my biggest passion however is mathematics, mainly teaching it. As a math student, that had big problems understanding abstract concepts himself, I had to find my own way of understanding and breaking it into simple and easy steps, which in my mind anyone can understand.

How did I get into cryptocurrencies? What is my opinion on steemit?

I got into crypto's at the end of 2016, mainly threw Ethereum. I read an article on it online and was straight away interested in the new possibilities that it creates compared to Bitcoin and invested a small amount in it. Wish I had gotten more at that time ;). So am I a crypto specialist? No not at all. There three types of people in my mind that deal with crypto's. Cryptographers who understand all the source code and the complex mathematics behind it. Then there market specialists (investors / traders) , who have experience in day-trading and are there mainly for pure profit. The last group in my mind, are those people who invest, because they are passionate about the project. No I am not saying the groups cannot intersect ;). I believe I belong to the last group however.
So what do I think about steem? Well I have to say, so far it seems very interesting. I am not in it for the monetary aspect, I just love the idea and the projects that are built on it and love to share my opinions. It's one of those coins that already have a lot implementation (i,e plattforms). But as said I am not an expert. The only problem so far, that I can see with steemit, is that already well known people (i.e youtubers, bloggers) will automatically have a high following and will make it hard in future for new users to get some exposure and I would like to see some implementation of LaTeX (A way to write math on the computer) on the platform.

So which coins do I like?

How can I contribute to the platform?

I have different ideas, how I could contribute here. However I think you guys can choose, what you would like to see. The things I have planned are listed here:

  • Tipps and Tricks to travel cheap in Europe (where to book and how to travel)
  • 360 degrees photography of my adventures and 360 degrees videos
  • Travel guide of Switzerland (where to go and what to visit)
  • Math explained easy (subjects could be linear algebra, analysis, algebra, topology and so on)
  • My opinion on cryptos (from a non expert view)
  • Chemistry explained easy (Basic chemistry for non freaks)
  • Riddles that you can try to solve (non mathematical ones of course :) )
  • Any other topics you are interested in or you guys want to ask me :)
My last words

Sorry for the long introduction. I am really looking forward to meeting you guys on the platform.
Have a nice day :)

Some really good content, I personally would like to welcome you to steemit and hope to see more posts from you in the future. Is an upvote from me and hey it would be great if you don't mind checking out my blog and read one of them, and if you like it even follow.

Sure :) I'll take a look at it straight away :)

Nice to have another math guy here ;)

Welcome aboard and hello from the United States.

Excited to see more of those 360 shots and info on Switzerland! We've never been, but would love to go some day! Welcome to Steemit :)

Sure. I'd love to share some :)
