Hello Steemit!
First and foremost, I'd like to thank my real life friend @l337m45732 for introducing me to this place. The planets aligned for me on the concept and it just clicked. So, thank you.
Now onto the important stuff, because I'm sure some of you are wondering what in the fresh hell deus ex machina means. It's a term from ancient Greece meaning "god from the machine," whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly resolved by the intervention of something new. It's a term that has stuck with me almost all of my life. It's also my favorite song by the band Scar Symmetry.
With that said, this is me!
If that photo didn't send you running for the hills, then on we go! I joined this community in hopes of networking and writing articles concerning American law enforcement, computer forensics, video games, and anything else that I find interesting. My primary goal is to write articles on current events involving law enforcement and also police procedure.
This year marks my tenth year in law enforcement, so it is something I am very passionate about. It pains me to see the public and law enforcement so divided in our society. I think a large part of that divide could be mended if law enforcement simply took the time to explain why things were done the way they were. This is not to include instances of true rights violations and police misconduct, but the many other times law enforcement comes into contact with the public. Showing mutual respect and taking the time to explain why the officer stopped the person, or why they behaved as they did could make a huge difference in that citizens perception of not only that officer, but all of law enforcement.
I've spent the majority of my career as a detective and have investigated just about every crime out there. My specialty, however, lies in white collar crime, hi-tech crime, and digital forensics. Most of what I do now involves investigating identity fraud and catching online sexual predators targeting children. I also spend a lot of time performing forensic acquisitions and analysis of electronic devices.
This is a bit of an old pic before a raid, but I rarely take pictures in anything police related
Other than than, I'm married to a wonderful woman who tolerates my shenanigans and video game addiction and have the most perfect daughter ever! They are my world and I couldn't imagine a better life. I love heavy metal, sci-fi/fantasy, and martial arts. I've had a long time interest in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, which is probably a big reason why I love the concept of this community.
Anyway, I have probably made this waaaay too long. I look forward to being a part of this community and can't wait to meet everyone!!!
Aaaaand last but not least
Hey man. Really interesting background. We have similar interests (though I never got past security guard in the law enforcement department) :P
Looking forward to your content.
Thanks man :) Yeah, the hiring process can be grueling and makes slamming your head in a car door seem far more exciting. If you or anyone have questions, feel free to ask. I can't promise the secrets of the multiverse, but the universe could be manageable.
