As for pointers, I would say:
- Make thoughtful comments on other people's posts. This is probably better for getting initial followers than blogging.
- Vote on other people's posts and comments. Engage with anyone who responds to you.
- If your goal is to make a blog that brings in money (not everyone will succeed in this), you should probably stick consistently to a theme or specific interests. People should know what they are getting when they follow your blog, and know that it is relevant to their interests.
- You can always try promoting your posts and buying Steem Power if you feel your posts are worthwhile enough to justify the cost. It will certainly help in bringing attention, but there's no guarantee that you'll turn that attention into new followers.
