Hello World?

Have you ever wondered what all is out there in the world? how people live out their lives? different cultures, languages, food and places to explore. These are the kinds of questions I've pondered about since as long as I could remember.

My name is Darcy Cardinal from Alberta, Canada and I wanted to introduce myself here on PeakD. Last week I was shown this new platform by @jude.villarta which was a curious coincidence because I've been wanting to restart some sort of blog in recent years again.

How would I describe myself? Summed up - I'm a Dreamer, Traveler, Trader and Creator. Yeah it's quite a bit rolled up into one, so let me explain a little. Oh, my personality would be considered to be INFP-T if anyone is into psychology and personality types!

Content creation has always been a mainstay in life, despite my recent focus on business of late. My specialty is hand-drawn city maps and plans. There was a possibility in my early years to take up city planning university, but that kind of education setting never was appealing for me.

City Planning? Would have been interesting but it would have also sucked the life out of me. Who knows. Maybe in a different life that would be a viable path. The built up world is fascinating to me - how people arrange their lives and transform the world around them to suit their needs and desires. Future posts will go over this in more detail.

What about trading? What's that all about? Well to put it simply I hate the traditional 9-5 work gig. To me (and many others recently) the "rat race" just isn't worth it. The soul sucking and life draining workplace that I've dealt with for over 10 years has motived me to find another way to live.

Multiple times in my life I've come across day/swing trading in one form or another. Forex? Been there. Crypto? Done it. What about stocks? Third time is a charm. As of November 2021 I've been heavily focused on building my Stock Options Day/Swing Trading skills.

So what is it like to be a day/swing stock options trader? It's punishingly difficult yet insultingly easy. At least that's what if felt like up until recently. I must admit that this has been the hardest thing I've done in my life but I took it up because it offers an "unlimited" income potential that can't be ignored.

My trading setup - two monitors on the kitchen table. Not a glamorous setup but it gets the job done.

So why go through all the headache of trying to learn to trade? I'll have to go into more depth on this subject in a later post, but all I'll give now is a hint - "portable income." There is no point in being stuck in a job that you are not liking, honestly, it's not worth it long term.

What about travelling? Well that's been a long time coming. You could say that I'm "late to the party" when it came to setting out on a airplane to a far off country. It was only just in end 2019 that I hopped on a plane to Taiwan to being my world exploration.

For the longest time I've wanted to set out on a plane and travel the world like most people. Finally in 2019 I got the opportunity to head to Taiwan. Oh my did I love that place. So much so that I wanted to head back there again. Of course we all know what happened soon after in 2020.

Regardless, the big city lifestyle and lights have now grabbed my attention and I'm determined to head out in 2022 to Philippines. I'm pretty sure that will be my base of "operations" because it's better to travel out from there instead of Canada.

As for dreaming, as an INFP (Look up MBTI) it's a natural choice for me to be a dreamer. I probably have spent half of my life dreaming of all the possibilities in life and only recently have decided to make those dreams a reality. Again, I'll go into details in future posts, promise!

This introduction is a long one, it looks more like a mini life story already!
