Currently tags are how the majority of the community find relevant content. Some tags like introduceyourself hold a significant meaning for the community and misusing them is considered rude.
@spaminator & @steemcleaners comments to inform new users of what most of the community considers the acceptable use of some tags. There are other members of the community that will just down-vote for what they consider is irrelevant use of some tags.
