Hello, my name is Javier and I currently live on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I am originally from California but ended up in Brooklyn, New York where I spent over half of my adult life. My wife says I am a New Yorker but I just can't deny my Los Angeles roots.
My family and I moved to Puerto Rico in 2013 to help take care of some family responsibilities. We never really planned on staying here but we fell in love with the island and its people. As a family, we love adventure and we have done some amazing things here. I can't wait to share some of the exciting things we have done.
I am also an entrepreneur by heart and love to help people. My wife and I worked as Vitamix demonstrators and were able to help hundreds of people here on the island take their health more seriously. We had tons of fun making healthy smoothies, ice creams and soups for people to try at our free demonstrations.
While here on the island, I got bit by the whole Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency bug. It was further escalated after experiencing hurricane Maria in 2017. It was impossible to access cash through the banks for almost 2 weeks and if you could, you were only allowed about $50 after spending 8 hours waiting in line. That's when I realized how Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies could help in situations like that. I am now working on helping the people of Puerto Rico learn about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

https://steemnow.com/ is where you can keep track of your voting power, SP (Steem Power), RC (Resource Credit), the latest upvotes on your account and how much your vote is worth.
https://steemworld.org/@cryptoinfancy gives you general details about your account such as who’s following you, any delegations you receive, VP (voting power) etc.
GINA (a bot) is a great tool (anyone on Steemit should have her) that keeps you up to date by sending you notifications (that you specify you want). You can get notified when your name is mentioned in a post, or for cryptocurrency posts, know when you receive SBD (Steem Backed Dollars) or STEEM in your wallet, who has followed or unfollowed you etc. You can learn more about it and how to sign up here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@ginabot/hi-i-am-gina-i-m-here-to-help
My piece of advice would be to just be you! Find your niche, build it up and make it fun and interesting so that others want to read more. Whenever possible add pictures to your post to give a visual and make it more engaging...posts with pictures usually get the most attention. Interaction and communication are the best things you could do here in Steemit. That’s how you meet people and find the ones you connect with and want to follow.
