Hello!

Greetings to everyone!

I hope everyone is doing great. First of all, a big thanks to the team of this platform and all the community members for being here and making it an amazing platform. Me, Saquib Salam (username @connectsaquib). I belong to India (Saran - Bihar) - the land of Gandhi & Jayaprakash Narayan – an independence activist, socialist and popular political figure. Famous music director Anand-Milind also hails from the same land. It has been the birthplace of some famous figures and has been a place of nature and amazing cuisine.

Family

My family has 6 members including me. I’m the firstborn child of my family. My father is a teacher and my mother is a house queen. They have not only taught me the bookish language but have also been my guide in my life's journey. They have helped me achieve the impossible and the highest level in my life. They have been always supportive of me and my decision. As I’m the firstborn child of my family, there are some responsibilities on my shoulders that I’m carrying on and fulfilling.

Education

My schooling started at St. Mother Teresa Public school and studied there till 4th class then after my family moved to the city from village where i persuaded my study in the J.D. Public School. After Schooling, I spent almost 2 years preparing for NEET and am currently pursuing my UG BDS course at the Career Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital in Lucknow – Uttar Pradesh - India. I was also selected in the Arizona State University, Arizona – USA for medical studies but some unfortunate circumstances didn’t let me go there and study.

Hobbies

I have been born into an artistic family and thus have inherited an interest towards art. I really like to paint and sketch and be good enough. I also inherited skills in writing and an interest towards novels and biographies. Currently, I’m reading “The Book Thief by Markus Zusak”. I love to write poetries and quotes. Let me present one of my favourite poem I wrote back in 2018.

Eternal Love
“Kissed by Snow
Touched by Wind
In the air of Hate
On the land of Wars
I born!
In the hands of Love
Holding Sword
Crowned by Peace
Breathing Gun-Powder
I grew!
In the hands of Love
Stained by Blood
In the rain of Post-fall
I’m here, Still surviving
In the Hand of Eternal Love!”

This poetry is dedicated to my parents who were there for me when the whole world was gone, in the darkness and in the hard times. Neither they left me nor their blessings. They have been always the backbone of my life. I can't even thank them enough.

I also love to cook and have tried my hand at many cuisines like Butter Chicken, Crème Brulee, and Baklava. I have taste for North Indian and Turkish foods. Apart From this, I have also been into computer programming and graphic design. Most recently I designed social media posts for AAP and BJP candidates during Punjab Lok Sabha Election.

Social Engagement and Friend Circle

I have been engaged in many social activities and really love to do these kinds of work. I have organized blood donation camps in my city and have been also collecting books from students and giving them away to the needy. Currently, I’m operating an NGO – Kalam Foundation which helps the education of unprivileged and poor children, a Free of Cost library, and recently it was a bit active during the pandemic for the oxygen cylinder helpline. I really see forward that one day it will not just help a few people but the whole world and will contribute to making the world a better place for everyone. The Kalam Foundation also promotes tree planting and the use of biodegradable materials rather than plastic.

I have a really small circle to which I’m truly attached and can be the real me in front of them. It merely consists of 8-10 people. I’m very caring toward my personal space and only my friends can enter into it. My friends have been very supportive and were always there for me when there was no one. They are family members, a family that never stops caring for me.*

My Strength

My family and friends are my only strength because I can blindly believe in them. Blindly? Well… they have made a space in my heart through their actions. And you know… actions speak louder than words. I have also been a very dedicated person towards my goal and that can also be counted towards my strength.

My Weakness

My weakness is that I’m very emotional and can’t handle emotion in a needed way. Many times, my emotions have caused havoc on me but I’m learning from it and moving forward towards my life.

Wish

I have many wishes but do all wishes come true? Well… no one can answer it except time. A few of my wishes are to open an Astronomy and Research Company, A Free Hospital for the needy and an education center for underprivileged and poor children. I also wish to travel into space and look closely into the outer world.

This is my introductory post and I have tried to be as truthful as I could be to myself. Hope you’ll like me here on the Hive platform. I came to know about this platform from YouTube and shout out the unknown YouTube for this amazing platform. Looking forwards towards working with the Hive community.
