Thanks for stopping by @ummjackson. I was lucky enough to start mining Dogecoin on like day 2 or so and I was very grateful.
I see some similarities between Steemit.com and r/dogecoin and some not. Dogecoin was certainly more about fun and not taking yourself so seriously and I wish that spirit would manifest itself a little bit more here but that was there and this is here.

I think the key nugget of "not taking yourself so seriously" that contributed to the use of Dogecoin as a tipping token and more like a currency is the lesser motivation to hoard and sit on the thing as a way of getting rich. A lot of that is perception, but a big part of it is also having seamless use cases for the technology (like tipping) where you don't actually feel like something is coming out of your wallet every time you hit "like". I still think there are multiple generations of crypto networks to come before we even come close to nailing it, but it's a fun ride to be a part of.
