RE: Introducing "Dreams of the Ocean" 🐋 The First Steem-backed Charity Project That Supports Kids Through Watersports Activities

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Well i hope to change this type of thinking by my demonstrations someday.. I teach/refresh maths and science within my swimming lessons to young learners because it relates to the activities.
I'm currently teaching swimming.
My emphasis is on developing a confident, healthy child with critical thinking skills.
I hope you don't judge all teachers and coaches under one umbrella. We not all air heads. We just love keeping active and know the importance of a healthy, fit lifestyle and how it fits into prosperity.
Your question shows us why we keep on pressing on to do this with the youth - nobody seem to want to help/support or don't see the importance of what we do.
Come into the water and experience it for yourself, that's the only way to answer your own question.

Nicely said, @coachjoachim!
I'm glad you jumped in and shared your own experiences from a professional point of view. My partners from the Red Cross told me something very similiar. They said: "A day at the beach might have a stronger impact on their lives in the long run than anything else." Yes, they need food, school books, clothes and a lot more. However, health (including fitness and sports) comes always first.

Best of luck for your own doings!
