Here I am, this is me!

Hi there Steemians! If you're reading this, then it means the community just got a tiny bit bigger. I stumbled upon Steemit whilst checking my Google feed, and it piqued my interest immediately. Couple of weeks later (waiting on the registration email) and here I am. 

My name's Marcel Schoenfeld and I was born on the 23rd of February 1990, thus 28 years old at the time of writing (for those who despise mental math) in South Africa. 

For no particular reason other than feeling adventurous at the time, I left South Africa in 2012 to spend a couple of years in Southeast Asia, and I've not been back since. I enjoyed Thailand the most and now I've been here for the better part of 6 years. 

In that time I've married my lovely Thai wife Alisa, bought a new townhouse (after growing tired of apartment living) , and got two Maine Coon cats (Shadow and Jess) to complete the family for now. 

I do my part over here by educating young learners in the basics of the English language. It's a tremendously satisfying feeling to be able to give back in such a way, and I enjoy it too.

I do however have some free time during the week and it's in that time that I hope I can contribute even more, right here on Steemit. I've been an avid user of Reddit, but that's all I ever was, a user. With Steemit I hope to be more than that by posting content and putting myself out there. No more of silently looking by. That is the beauty of Steemit, giving people incentive to make that push. 

t might take me some time to a niche for my posts, as I have a plethora of interests. But all in good time!
