Hello, Steemit Community! Greetings from Romania, I am Catalin!
I just joined the community of Steemit this month after hearing about it a couple of months ago. After joining the community and read a couple of your interesting posts I think it is time to have a self-introduction for this beautiful social media platform!
I am from Ploiesti, Romania but at the moment I am studying Tourism in Wageningen, Netherlands. I was introduced to this platform by searching on an internet marketing forum by chance. I thought the idea of this platform is great because everybody can share their experiences and meet new people. I thought that the content of this platform is interesting and so I created a Steem account to give it a try.
I enjoy silence, reading, photography, basketball, online gaming and everything that has to do with nature. During the summer, I enjoy going to reggae festivals in a beautiful natural scenery with hand-made sound systems and have fun with my friends. I also enjoy barbeques at the countryside or explore new places while escaping from the warm and busy city that I live in.
Cooking is another hobby of mine and I always want to try new food from different cultures or cook for my friends. Even if our lives are busy I still believe that happiness comes from simple things like kindness and nature!
For a seak peak in my life, I decided to present you what I did last week.
I went to a special Festival in Romania named One Love Gathering held in the Romanian Mountains at Voineasa.
There were 4 handmade sound systems, very nice people and food and the landscape was overwhelming
While enjoying several conscious reggae artists we also had enough time to explore the woods, drink natural water, taste a different kind of food every day and all this was done while protecting the forest from garbage and chemicals!
The place is famous because of the abandoned hotels that are around the area that remained unfinished since our communist era. Exploring this places and finding several old items gave us a unique experience.
Moreover, we could also take pictures from this buildings:
Even if the festival took 7 days and sometimes you get bored of exploring we could chill in one of these:
This was not the first nor the last time when I attend this type of events and I am really happy that the people that are creating them are still motivated. (these events barely do any profit but they are really nice!)
After a week there I could see many benefits of taking such a vacation and camping together with your friends.
A couple of this benefits would be that it helps you clear your mind from stress and problems, the air is fresh and it can cure many diseases, the food is much more natural, you can loose some weight and get in shape and much many more.
Thank you for reading my introduction, and I appreciate the Steemit platform for providing us a place to share our experiences!
I decided to end this introduction with a picture of my tomcat Gigi!
Cheers!

Greetings catalintaras, I hope you enjoy it here!
I have observed that people get upset or frustrated when they ask someone to follow them, and that doesn’t occur. There was a reason, following someone was reserved for someone whom you identified with, or you enjoyed their posts, things of that nature.
That kind of following is almost negligible now, since everyone wants to be followed no matter what they have to offer. I have found a sort of solution.
Now days, I follow whomever I comment upon; no matter what. I ask too, that they follow me; I will up vote them as well, if they provide decent content. If I don’t really appreciate their posts, I mute them. Problem solved. So I will follow you, please follow me.
FYI: you actually get more rewards if you up vote others posts, and comment/reply to your own postings. In other words, the more people you help, the more people help you.
I, @carltong, have all kinds of information on my blog, including faucets for free coin. Check my blogs out for that data, as this welcome greetings is just that, a sincere welcome to the greatest social platform on Planet Earth.
I would share two more things with you; first and foremost AVOID BITCOINSBRAIN! It is a HYIP site that stole about $1000 from me. It is a scam. Here is my take on HYIP’s.
IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT’S NOT TRUE!
I was so gullible on BitcoinsBrain, that I took all my other coins and invested them into this fund. I was still texting and sending messages a full two weeks after they quit paying me. I could not grasp that I had been ripped off.
Secondly, @jerrybanfield is perhaps the strongest Steemian on Steem today. Check his site out for a free tutorial on how to use Steem. I took it and have learned plenty.
I hope things go well for you on here and once again, WELCOME to STEEMIT!!!
Sincerely,
@carltong

Welcome @catalintaras, always good to meet new Steemians.
Thank you!

I liked it! You have signed up recently so welcome to steemit. One upvote from me and don't forget to upvote others!
As a newcomer to steemit, it's not easy getting those first upvotes so maybe you want to try Steemfollower where you can earn up to 5x more steem than just upvoting by yourself! It's a simple and safe vote exchange that is free to use. I compiled this post to explain the system in more depth and it has become my most upvoted post yet.
What an awesome introduction. As a fellow dreadhead, you have my respect! :)
The event looks like it was pretty memorable and those sound systems are so cool. I'll have to look into creating something like that.
Followed and resteemed!
Thank you! I like your pictures so I follow :)
