Today I'm celebrating my first week on Steemit!

The place where I was reborn, and baptized as the one and only:

And hence, have decided,
that because I love you all guys,
and there's just so much love in here,
that I'm allowed to overshare, once again,
and make sure everyone gets to know me!

Let's just say I'm one of the others ;)

Disposing of Others:

Two tall men, dressed in all-white,
account for four pairs of cruel arms,
against all claims you once thought you had
on that elusive thing called liberty.
They seize you with an iron grip
to squeeze the hope out of your skin
and stifle signs of struggle,
sometimes long before they are even born.

I looked into their eyes to find me, but I didn’t.
All I saw was waste, and the dregs of the world.
I saw no human, or humanity,
merely trash, and I was handled as such,
soon to be tossed aside in the big melting pot
that is the looney bin.

And through it all, a woman watched
her orders callously been carried out.
A hint of a smile on her curling lip,
in seeing my flame go out,
and my pride crushed to pieces.

I want to help, or so she said,
and made me share my tale of woe
amid a company of strangers,
whose presence was requested for her safety.
Eyes gleaming above my bed sheets,
peeking under the torn fabric of my tights,
peering into the twisted mind that’s mine,
to make us all feel safe again,
and prevent all possible assaults.

So she said,
as she stripped me off,
layer by layer,
as she trampled upon
every last crumb of dignity
I had left.

And in freeing me
of the bondage of being human,
I could fear no more,
for I had nothing left for them to take.

Plans and proposals,
all laid down for her new patient,
a straitjacket and a fingernail trim,
for she must have read my wish
to scratch her eyes out.
