¡Hola, Steemit!

Hi Steemit!

My name is Antonella Lucía Requena Ciccoloni, and even though this is not my first post, yes, it is my #IntroduceYourself, yaaay!

I'm eighteen years old and I'm always the youngest girl in the group (seriously, wherever I go). I'm venezuelan, and my mom's italian, that's the reason why I'm in touch with italian culture. In fact, one of my mottos is "L'arte di arrangiarsi" which means to have the ability to create things from nothing, so I think I try to put in practise this daily.

I'm a 2nd year Computer Engineering (or Science if you prefer haha) student at Simon Bolivar University and I'm also part of the Student Council

Besides being a math and machine lover, my second passion is literature, so I consider myself a wannabe writer, I dedicate to write short tales and letters, and I also have a personal blogspot where I post since I was 14. Unfortunately, this blog is in spanish, but if you want to check it out, here i leave you the link :)

In 2014 I participated on a Letter Competition and resulted finalist, being the only teenager.

The letter I sent is titled Confesiones al Amanecer and you can find it here.

For these reasons I think it's pretty obvious that most of the content I'll publish here on Steemit will be literature and written by me :)

But I also have another hobbies like cooking and singing. Maybe I'll post some stuff about recipes and plates I prepare, let me know in the comments if you'd like so. I love to travel but unfortunately last time I did it was a couple of years ago. The best part of travelling is definetely to taste the food.

This picture is from my last trip, it was to Venice. I already published a (funny) story about this trip.

Well, this has been all by now, thank you for reading my #IntroduceYourself, I hope to let you know more stuff about me by next posts :).

Hi @callmeanto

Welcome to Steemit (even though you've been on for awhile).

I'd be interested in reading some of your writing but it looks like your posts are all in Spanish...which I need to learn. I'm Puerto Rican but only speak English :(

I like to write also and do mostly short poems, if you find time then check them out.

Will we be hearing you sing also?

Upvoted and Followed (I'll use a translator to be able to read your stuff if I have to).

Thank youuuu! Followed you back and running to your profile to read your posts (specially your poems) :) and don't worry, i'll try to post in English too but oh! i'm flattered for what you said (the fact that you will use translator).
And what's a Puerto Rican that can't speak spanish? hahahah don't worry, we can do a language interchange, you teach me and I teach you, what do you think?

About singing, well, could be too! I'll try once, let's see how that works :)

Thank you again for reading me :) Nice to meet you.

Let me know what you think when you read them. Some people have told me that poems don't translate well to other languages, I have a friend from Turkey and even though she speaks English she doesn't understand them.

I can tell you that not knowing Spanish has been very annoying. I've gone to family events where the older generation switches to Spanish randomly so it's hard for me to have a conversation with them. Or dating, dating a girl that speaks Spanish is hard.

and sure we can teach each other, how long have you been learning English?

Once you post yourself singing then I will also. (I sound terrible but I like to try)

That's true, when you translate a poem it loses it essence. And woah! I'm not used to read poems in english but I really like your poetic style. I'll keep my eye on your profile.
And don't worry, when I post something in english, it won't be translated, it will be created from my mind 100% in english, let's see how that works.
It's very normal if your friend doesn't understand them, that can be because poetry isn't the same throughout cultures, and sometimes in poems we use terms that are not commonly used so maybe she doesn't even understand the words. But to understand poetry, more than understanding the words, you have to understand the soul of it just as the author did when they wrote it, and that's difficult to accomplish when you are from a different culture. I don't know if you get my idea or if it makes sense to you :)

hahaha I can imagine how annoying is to you when that happens on family events, that used to happen to me on my family events but in italian, so I had to learn. I can imagine how difficult is to date a hispanic girl hahahah. But have you tried to learn it? I swear it's not difficult.

Well, I started learning english at nine years old, and finished studying it at sixteen, right now I'm not formally studying it but everyday I keep on learning and forcing myself to keep in touch with the language because I REALLY REALLY like it and I don't want to forget it never hahaha (I would not forgive myself NEVER).
