My name is Alex Feldblioum.
I am from Toronto, ON Canada. A 25 year old man that recently discovered Steemit. How did I find out about this wonderful website? Credit goes to my friend, @bitcoinman !
Now about myself.
I am an easy going person who isn't looking to judge the people around me. We're all in this world looking for a good time after all :). I am into fitness, martial arts, hiking, fishing, and much much more. I am 420 friendly, gotta love the Arizer Solo I own ;)
I was always the shy type due to my social anxiety issue, though I feel that it is much under control lately. Life full of worry just isn't worth it! Life is meant for good experiences and what better place to get more of those experiences than steemit. I'm glad that I have been recommended this website because of the quality in content provided! Sure there's a lot of great content out there in the world web, but steemit provides a few extras in order to make it that much better ;)
Do you watch some good anime? If so, we will get along haha. I was always into Dragon Ball Z, but recently started exploring all the great anime I could find. Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, Parasyte, DEATH NOTE, and of course Dragon Ball Z are in my favorites category :) Always looking for more Anime to watch though!
Not much into sports, but UFC has my attention! I haven't been following it as much lately, but I still love it! Yes, I'm a Mcgregor fan... What's not to love about him. Guy works up and talks a lot of shit before the fight... love him or hate him, it's always a good show.
I trained a little bit a Muay Thai myself... If you're looking to lose weight, I strongly suggest you try it haha!
I love nature, hiking is one of my favorite things to do. Something about that adventurous feeling :P

Welcome, Alex. Social anxiety can be such a difficult struggle, good that you're managing it. May I ask how you're keeping it under control? Are you doing any psychological or spiritual techniques to keep it from taking over your social interaction?
Thank you! :). I eventually just started to think positively about myself. I started to ignore the negativity. I know it's a little cliche, but it works... Be around those who respect you for you... for those who don't, kick em out of your life. You're an amazing person, if others have a problem with that, then its not worth paying attention to.
That's good advice. I think positive thinking is something a lot of us could really do with more of, in the current social climate that we're in. So much anger, hatred, divisiveness, etc. We need happy, positive, cheerful reinforcement.
Indeed, especially when you're just out there for a good time. Being a friendly person that helps others will also help those with social anxiety/depression. The true things in life make us all happy :)
I still have issues here and there, but for the most part... I'm doing alright :)

Welcome to Steemit! There are a lot of liberty lovers here, and it sounds like you may be one. Wouldn't be nice to own your own body and decide what you want to do with it as you please? It's such a crazy concept! /sarc
I love the outdoors too, and I'm always most relaxed surrounded by a forest. Combine a forest with mountains for spring water, and you can sustain life indefinitely.
There are a ton of other webpages to help you with Steemit. Here are some of the best for beginners:
https://steemd.com/ (This site is used to keep track of your voting power and other stats. You do not want to run out of voting power, and you only get so much per day. I keep my voting power around 80% for example.)
https://steem.makerwannabe.com/ (This site will tell you who follows you, who unfollows you, and who mutes you. It is great for meeting new people too. I regularly check it to see who has followed me to see if I should follow them back.)
https://steemit.chat/ (This site is the official chat webpage for Steemit. There are Discord channels too, but I usually stick to the official site. Come in to network and meet new friends. You can directly message people there too, so it makes it easier to communicate with your closest friends.)
Oh yeah, there are a lot of bots on here. If you see a cookie cutter reply, especially to your intro post, it is almost certainly a bot. Check the account's reputation. If it is low, I would recommend just ignoring them. Everything is public on Steemit, so you can go look at an account's comments and replies. Are they all the same? It's a bot.
Adding photos to your account as a new Steemian may be confusing at first too. The easiest way it to click to "Submit a Story." Once in there, use the built in Steemit tool to upload an image from your computer. Below the posting window, you will see "Insert images by dragging & dropping, pasting from the clipboard, or by selecting them." Click on the blue text. Once the image is uploaded, you can copy and paste the link into your account settings.
Verifying your identity is very important because it will get you more support and people will trust you more. The best way to verify is to link back to your Steemit account by using another public social media account. For example, I posted my Steemit articles from here through my Twitter account. Another person posted their Steemit information on their Facebook account. Some people will even post a video of themselves writing out their account information since that cannot be Photoshopped. The more famous a person is or the more valuable their content is, the more important it is that they verify. If a new account falls within those two categories and fails to verify, it may get blacklisted.
