Once Upon a Time...
There was a pair of twenty-somethings writing fanfiction. They went by the screen names Bruce Pendragon and Stoker Bramwell. Their signature work was a massive video game crossover epic that made an admirable attempt to do what few other crossovers in history had ever done: not suck. Unfortunately, they grew up before it was finished. And growing up has a funny way of meaning "leave your fanfiction days behind." Still, writing a 180,000 word novel on fanfiction.net and getting halfway through its sequel gives you some useful experience in writing, no matter how childish the subject matter may be.
For copyright reasons, obviously, I could not return to fanfiction here on Steemit even if I wanted to (the cryptocurrency we're paid with may not be worth beans but it is still technically money... of a sort). However, that does not prevent me from writing some of the original stories I had in those days. My work will mostly be of a fantasy genre, with perhaps the occasional sci-fi element. It should also be noted that there will be occasional use of the NSFW tag. I'll begin with a story entitled The Prince's Pet, a re-incarnation of the story I once intended to put on Fictionpress.net as "The Slave Princess." Needless to say the work has changed a great deal since then.
And who knows? I may throw in the occasional journal entry about the life that inspires these twisted works I intend to write. But mainly, my steemit account will be my return to publishing my stories online, after more than 10 years of silence. Bruce Pendragon lives again, a little older and hopefully a little better at writing.

Eight suggestions to consider:
1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and steemconnect,
3. The master password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and
be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
7. When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.
8. Do NOT open any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.
I found you because @xcountytravelers and @brittandjosie from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.
If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Steemians available who can help you; you can click to go to the Steem Terminal in Discord here:
Have fun and happy Steeming!
I (@gadrian) sometimes feel the need to read a great but short fiction story. Welcome aboard Steem from both myself personally and the new SteemHelp Community!
