Introducing Myself - Better Late Than Never

in #introduceyourself7 years ago

Hi!  I joined Steemit yesterday, but I'm kicking myself for not joining when I first heard about it back in late September.

Three Months Ago...

There was a post by @kadavy on Medium about how he made $222 from a Steemit post.

I was interested, but as usual, I finished reading the post and moved onto another one.  I should have taken action and started writing here.  I may have had my own success story by now.

That $222 was after the STEEM was converted to Bitcoin, and then from Bitcoin to US dollars.  With the skyrocket of Bitcoin since that article was posted, the .0623 Bitcoin earned would be worth around $735 at the time that I'm typing this.  Count me in!  Except I got distracted by everyday life and forgot to sign up.

Three Months Later...

So with all of the Bitcoin news lately, it helped me remember Steemit, and I decided to revisit and become a member this time.

Maybe STEEM, Bitcoin, and most of these other cryptocurrencies will continue to go up, or maybe they will go down.  Nobody knows.  However, I'd rather join in on the fun here and see what happens instead of continuing to wish that I started sooner.

So "Hi" everyone reading this.  And thanks to @kadavy for writing that article.  I'm glad that I bookmarked it so I could find it again.  I look forward to creating and enjoying good content on here.

Waving at you

Hey there @breen. I think the stories with cryptocurrencies will always be about what could have been. We're just glad you decided to join the platform now!

$200 posts are still hard to come by, but if you get plugged in with user communities across the platform, you'll be on your way to earning larger rewards. Honestly, getting to know the other Steemians and joining communities can be even more rewarding than just getting post rewards. I've already met many people who are fantastically interesting and have much to offer the platform.

What kinds of things do you hope to contribute to the platform, and what can we expect from your blog?

I always give the same advice to all new Steemians, so I'll leave these tips here for you in hopes that they will help you along the way.

  • Familiarize yourself with the way the platform works by browsing the FAQs.

  • Check out the Steemit Etiquette Guide for tips on how to interact with others in the community and how to introduce yourself to everyone.

  • If you'd like some advice on how to make your posts great, take a look at this guide I posted about polishing your posts.

  • Finally, when it comes to commenting, check out this guide that will get you on the road to becoming a comment expert!

I'll be following along to take a look at your future posts, but if you're interested in plugging into a community that focuses on supporting its members and curating great content, look no further than The Unmentionables. Come check us out!

The rest is up to you, so best wishes and happy Steeming!

Welcome! Nice to have you!
