Vanity and Greed brought me here...

But it's not what will make me stay.

Seeing as this is my intro post, I thought honesty would be the best policy. After hearing about Steem, my thought process went something like this:

1. I can make money just by posting on social media!
2. But I don't have anything to say.
3. Are you kidding? You get tons of likes on Facebook and everyone think you're funny. Get on there and bring your gift to those poor folk that haven't yet experienced your genius!

Ok, so the final thought wasn't quite that bad, but there certainly were thoughts of 'you're a good writer, give it a shot and see what happens'.

Now that reality has hit and I'm fairly confident nobody cares about what I have to say, what's keeping me here is the community and tech. I work in tech, I live with tech and I love tech. Blockchain is my newest little obsession - to the point where I'm creating my own blockchain and 'currency' - so the idea of new advancements being based in blockchain technology and concepts really does excite me.

There's also the fact that there's a whole new community to meet and experienced. Surely someone wants to debate Star Wars or Martial Arts with me. These are the two things I know most about by the way, so expect lots of posts on those subjects (probably more about Star Wars). I'm looking forward to posting my thoughts on 'The Last Jedi' because they seem to be at odds with those of most people. But more on that later!

I work for a Cyber Security and Resilience company, would desperately like to take and pass the CISSP exam, but with the seemingly insurmountable mountain of knowledge that's required, I'm not sure if it'll ever happen. I've managed to get through a number MS, CISCO and COMPTIA exams, with my crowning glory being the SSCP (the stepping stone to CISSP).

Not much else to say at the moment, other than I hope someone actually reads this!
