Hello, steemit people, steemers, steemteam, friends I haven’t met yet!
I’m Tim (or “BeardVsEvil” if you’ve taken the blue pill), and this is my introduction. That much is probably obvious from the simple fact that I started this paragraph by saying “I’m Tim.” But it’s true. Pleased to meet you.
I’m BeardVsEvil on Twitter and Instagram, and my podcast is at watchersonthecouch.com. That’s my semi-verification, since I’m at work and people would look at me funny if I took a selfie at my standing desk.
It’s times like this where I should mention a few things that I’m interested in and enjoy, but the truth is I’m like the Borg Collective. I’m interested in everything and I am constantly assimilating new things to be interested in. So perhaps a better list would be a list of “what am I?” adjectives:
A UI/UX Developer: Mostly this. It pays the bills.
A Husband: (getting ready to celebrate my first anniversary with my wife, a graphic designer that I used to work with that I reconnected with several years later)
A Podcaster: I host a Game of Thrones podcast called “The Watchers on the Couch” and we’re getting ready to record the last episode of this season in just a couple hours (seriously… how bout that finale, huh?)
A “Maker”: I’m really into 3D Printing, Woodworking, building computers. And my wife (hopefully you read that in Borat’s voice) does woodworking, screenprinting, sewing, quilting, etc. She has her own Youtube channel that she’s growing called Studio Moxy.
A Dungeon Master: I’ll admit… I fudge dice rolls all the time. Otherwise my wife and my parents would never speak to me again. They should be dead five times over.
A Writer: I used to say ‘aspiring writer.’ Though I’ve decided after many years of selling myself short, the act of writing itself makes one a writer. Though it doesn’t change the fact that not only have I never been published, I’ve never even finished anything I’ve ever wr-
I’m looking forward to being on and contributing on steemit. I’ve been browsing around the past couple days and you all seem like decent people, and nothing at all like a subreddit or YouTube comment section.
Is that a compliment? I mean, I think so. In 2017, with all the venom pouring out of every social media orifice, it’s refreshing to find a place that isn’t akin to World of Warcraft’s Barrens Chat (is that still a thing? I haven’t played WoW in almost 10 years.)
So.... hi! :)

Welcome to steemit !! Sick beard man ! Can’t wait to see some posts 🙌
Welcome aboard.
the act of writing itself makes one a writer
I agree.
Nice starter beard by the way.
Thanks! As with many of our kind, I had to face a lumberjack in combat, and take the beard-power of my defeated foe for my own.
Those of you without beards will undoubtedly be confused, and think "That just sounds like some weird version of the movie Highlander." But the rest of us understand, and we say to you:
"Keep shaving."
I haven't had a hairless face since 1971...I started off with a 'stash' (per goverment regulation) then when I escaped the clutches of the military(1979)...NO MORE SHAVING at all...only scissors to trim ..
All seriousness aside...I never understood why a guy wanted to look like a gal.
Too many post toasties as a child perhaps?
