Introduction to Steemit

Hello Steemit! I'm arcticgypsy; I'm a teacher, crafter, and artist living in the arctic. For the past nearly ten years my art has revolved around creating static and animated props for my families haunted house; however, since relocating to the arctic I have been refocusing my hobbies to be more geared towards crafts and writing. So far living above the arctic circle has been an eyeopening but overall positive experience for my husband, @lacking, and I. 20200112_123045.jpg20151014_221434.jpg20170828_140811.jpg20180418_140935.jpg20180426_121030.jpg

Thanks for the info @brittandjosie. Its been years since i have done any loom beading but since there isn't very much outside entertainment in the small northern community we live in I decided to get back to crafting during the dark season.

I love crafting, I missed todays #needleworkmonday blog making a collar for the dogs and for myself but craft is so much fun and relaxing and after so good to blog about so good luck till we blog again

Welcome to steemit @arcticgypsy.

Welcome the new steemians. Have a great day!

Welcome!

Just found you 😊 So excited to find a Canadian that resides in Nunavut (as mainly us Canadians on Steemit are from Quebec, Ontario, and BC)

Bet you have many awesome things to share esp on how life is up there 😊

Just starting out on Steemit and have only been in Nunavut for five months. Originally from Saskatchewan.

OK, this is weird..

animated props for my families haunted house

Its actually a huge industry and community across North America. I have met many very good people that share my love of creating "spooky" decor for our personal and sometimes professional haunts.

oh that's so weird and cool..

Do they stay up all year long or is this a Haloween thing?

Some of it stays up all year but we only let the public come through the weekend before Halloween and thenight of Halloween.

Sounds weird and cool :D

Welcome arcticgypsy!

Welcome to Steemit!

Welcome to the Steemit community @arcticgypsy!
I couldn't even fathom living in the temps that hubby was citing in that area!
Suggestion: when setting images, use paint or an art program, and cut your images wider than tall.

Another hint is these posts are editable after publishing.
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Eight suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and steemconnect,
  3. The master password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit,
be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
  7. When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.
  8. Do NOT open any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @xcountytravelers and @brittandjosie from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Steemians available who can help you; you can click to go to the Steem Terminal in Discord here:
