Hello Hive! I am archangel21. I am a student here in India. I am currently studying information science engineering and I would soon graduate and become a full-time software engineer. Apart from being a student, I have also done a lot of freelance content writing. I am also learning a lot about Web3 and blockchain technologies to be able to pivot into the decentralized world eventually.
How did I find Hive?
Actually, I found Hive when I was not even looking for it. One of my friends told me how he ends up making money playing the Axie infinity game. I tried to get in on it. However, the very high fees on the Ethereum blockchain let me away from it. So, I started my search for another P2E game that I could possibly play. Behold, I found Splinterlands. On looking closer into how the blockchain integration happens on Splinterlands, I discovered Hive and I decided to hop on it.
My Splinterlands account
FYI, I play Spliterlands on my other account berlin22. However, that account kept having issues when I wanted to post my introduction post. So, I decided to create a separate account for posting on Hive. So, there won't be any posting on that account and all the content sharing would happen from this account of mine.
What are my plans to get involved in Hive?
Well, I am both a software engineer by trade and have also dabbled with content writing. So, Hive fits in perfectly with my lifestyle. I intend to learn development on Hive while also sharing content over here and using this as my dev blog. I'm hoping that by using this account as my dev blog, I would end up getting a whole lot consistent with my development work.
Coding is my passion and I would want to eventually build cool stuff using the Hive blockchain as the underlying technology. However, before I get that far, I would need to first understand how everything works over here. In my search, I have already some great documentation of the APIs and libraries that would help me get started.
I plan on using this account of mine to update everything I learn here about Hive or any other blockchain that I would be working on. However, I am more leaning towards Hive due to the free transactions that are supported over here.
What are my past experiences with coding?
I have worked for an Indian healthcare startup where I used PHP and Java. With the mentors I got there, I realized the massive potential that coders possess. The way I see it is, in the olden days, people had to either work insanely hard, get a lot lucky, or be born with a silver spoon in their mouth to be highly successful. Coding lets us do exactly the same thing. However, you have far more power and won't really need much help if what you build is super cool and accepted by the community.
While I am here, I want to slowly branch out of PHP and Java and get into the javascript end of things. maybe even get into .NET as Microsoft seems to be doing an amazing job with it lately. Overall, I want to build something cool that all of you might use one day.
I am also a big fan of competitive programming. There's something about solving puzzles that gets me super interested. So, I would be sharing such things here on my blog.
What else do I do apart from coding and content writing?
Well, come the night and I turn into a Valorant player. Even though I have been playing the game for well over a year, I still very much suck at it. Hopefully, I get better at it before I end up quitting the game. I am also a big-time football fan. I pretty much watch all the matches played by Manchester United(Mainly for Ranaldo and it fits my timezone). However, I am a Madridista. I started watching football because of El-Classicos and ever since then, I have been a huge fan of Real Madrid.
Because of their match schedule, I am often up very late at night. Hopefully, we beat PSG next month in the UCL and eventually go on to win the UCL trophy this time.
Since I am an Indian, watching and playing cricket is in my gene. Before the covid 19 pandemic, I used to play cricket every Sunday morning. However, it has now been 2 years since I played cricket. But I still watch cricket. Disappointed with the India loss to South Africa. Coming to the IPL, I support my home team RCB cause even I am from Karnataka.
Well, that's it about me. See you all in my next post.
Let's see where this journey takes me. I'm stoked to meet you all.
PS: Mad fan of Splinterlands! Would love to interact with the team behind that game and hopefully pick up a few tips from them.
