I am a writer with three books published, with many more stories to tell. I am middle-aged and old fashioned in that I like to tell stories on paper. The Internet hasn't been a place that I have gravitated to because it is always easy to copy creative works and share it without permission. Social media is a harsh place for a writer to share work. And when you have worked for major entertainment newspapers, there is a sense that appearances are not what they seem. This is amplified by the Internet.
But you can do things with the Internet you can't do with traditional publishing. Like tell anonymous stories. That's why I came here, after I had a conversation with a user who convinced me that Steemit can be a platform for enlightenment. A light bulb went off in my head. In telling these stories on Steemit, it will also help me practice my online craft.
This account isn't to promote my books or published writings but to tell stories that are too fearful to tell.
The best characters are always based in some part on real life people. As they say, truth is stranger than fiction, so real humans make great templates for fictional characters. In my research, I have come across people who have stories that they would never dare reveal. These are not necessarily tales of crime committed by the storyteller. Often, the crimes are committed against them. As you will see, these stories are so unique to their situations that they are difficult to incorporate into general adult fiction.
I think it is important to try to share these stories.
As anonymouswriter, I will share my own stories along with those experienced by others, wrapped in anonymity. The stories will be told in the first-person POV, and describe an aspect of the world that is mysterious, occultic, or profoundly revealing. I will also share stories I have written that I wouldn't normally attach my name to. Stuff that I have written over the years that don't really "fit in." Some of it is fun, which I hope provides some relief from the really serious stuff.
I would love to accept submissions of stories from writers who want to remain anonymous, but I have to figure out a way to accomplish this without giving away identities. Please follow me to receive a future post, which will have instructions on how to get in contact with me. I plan to share a portion of the Steem dollar rewards with story owners.
From what I have read so far, I love Steemit already, and hope it can become a place for me to not only tell riveting stories about the mysterious, but provide a service to the silenced.
I am very curious now about these stories. You're right, the internet can be more anonymous.
Does Mick know about this ? Thinking he would Not approve ...
just my opinion ...
