The Untold Me...

in #introducemyself7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit Community! First of all, I would like to thank @nirmal for introducing me to Steemit and Crypto Currency, which otherwise would have been left undiscovered. My name is Uttam Baskey, I am 19 and I like my smile and black T-shirts.

Now you like It too

I live In Dumka Jharkhand a place hardly visible on the map of India. It is compact, beautiful and alive. I like the air in here, free from pollution, fresh and cold. I completed my High School in St. Joseph's School here in this city so it's very close to me. I miss my school a lot though. Everyone does. Right? I wrote a small poem back when I was in 10th standard. I hope you like it.

Bring Me Back

Oh God, Take me back in the past
Bring me those moments back
Let me live my school again
I miss it lot, it gives me pain

Sitting in the class i wish to hear
Voice of my mates
Oh they were so near
I want to live back those memories
Teachers classes and the beautiful she

Let me feel the heat of sun
Let me live my class one
I want to shout, I want to run
Take me back to the horizon

I want to catch my early van
I wish to lift my school bag again
Take me back to the wonderland
I miss it lot, It gives me pain

When i am dead set on the fire
Inquired about my desire
I would creep out of the linen black
"I just wish to live my schooldays back"

"This is the heavenly place I miss."

Alright, so it's only been 19 years of existence yet I have so much to share, speak, and spread.
I feel kind of privileged to face situations I shouldn't have at early ages. It made me strong.
Here is a life hack I used whenever I felt bad about myself...
I always told myself, "There are people more miserable and in worse condition than I am in, they are still doing good, I can handle this.."

Speak To Be Heard...

I was always fascinated by the idea of leading a group and addressing them. The later part, much more. When I was in 5th standard I developed the nerve to speak before the audience. It takes time, practise and patience but its worth it. I practised before mirror time and again and delivered on stage.

We all at some moment of life have things to speak, experience to share but we fail. The inability to speak before the audience gets the better of us.
George Bernard Shaw says,

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange apples then
you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I
have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two
ideas...

The process of exchanging ideas is where public speaking ability comes to play.
I ranked in school speech and debate competitions. I also participated in the National level debate. In the course of time, I will share whatever I know about public speaking.

I Want To Be...

No one in my family has graduated, so it's a lone path for me. I am going to join college soon under Arts Stream which the society here feels is the stream of weak. Everyone questioned me whether why wasn't I joining Engineering or Medicals which as they say has more scope and job opportunities. I did not join because I know, I am weak at Science and Maths, the society doesn't.
It's always better being a good English graduate than a bad engineer. When I grow up I want to teach students. I don't know If I will ever be a good teacher but I want to be one. I want to educate the world as much as I can and maybe open a school in my village. You see I dream big :).

I don't live in the village. My grandmother and uncle still stay there. I visit it very often. I always wanted to do something good for the people living there. There is no proper education so far... Most children spend their time grazing cattle and sheep. I want to see books on those little hands. I want them to grow and fly out in the open world to achieve things they never thought of. I want them to grow. That is the reason I want to build a school there. I will surely do a "My Village" post soon.

Lives I want to change

Things I Have Learnt So Far...

  • Scores in test don't really matter, the ability to solve real life problem does. Life is a much harder test to take.
  • The other person is always better than you at something. Learn.
  • Surround yourself with people better than you, not necessarily in the same profession. As I said everyone is better than you at something. I have friends not doing so well in academics but they are excellent singer, dancers, painters, and writers. They are outstanding at what they do. I draw my inspiration from them and think If only I could execute my work with same zeal, I can progress a lot.
  • Read a lot, as George R. R. Martin writes,

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.”

  • Tell you parents that you love them. They are the only one who really care about you.
  • Stop Waiting For Tomorrow. I had this bad habit of postponing things . For example, I would skip cleaning my room and clothes postponing it an hour later and ultimately never doing it. Weekdays were tough. I was being less productive. I hated myself. I then came across an answer on Quora on how to defeat this sort of laziness.
If you ever watched Rocket Launching on television you would have noticed how a person starts countdown just 10 seconds before take off. Why is that countdown important? The moment the final countdown begins, that means there is no backing off whatsoever. It has to be done at any cost. I use this same method now. If I have to clean my bed. I start counting backwards from 10. I say it to myself, "There's no looking back now, I have to begin it before I reach 1." It always works.

That's all for now about me and dreams...

Coming To What's Stated in the Header...

What am I Up To Right Now...?

As I stated above I am going to join college soon. I have decided not to ask a single penny from my parents. I am going to take on the expenses on my own.
I have taken up blogging seriously under the guidance of @nirmal and looking forward to work as a content writer for various blogs. No luck yet. But you know what I say, "........... I can handle this."

This is the first time I have opened up so much on the Internet. I still have so much to share. I hope you liked it. Let me know what you think. Happy to Connect :) Thankyou Steemit.
