The idea is not bad, but first you say this is non profit and suddenly this: "25% of all earnings will be shared amongst the mentors as a thank you for their involvement.
25% of all earnings will be given to those who delegate SP to help the project develop."
That sounds shady to me sry, but that are 50% of the earnings that could go into SP instead to help the community as you said.
This is another step of making the rich richer and the poor fishes get what? One upvote a week with 30cents?
So @minnowmentor posts will in themselves earn, because they will be upvoted. Half of the amount they are upvoted will go into SP which will ONLY be used to upvote the minnows posts. We will also be looking for delegation of SP as well. This is easy because the posts are set 50/50.
So what happens to the 50% which will appear in SBD? Well half of this will go to the mentors who will give their time to appraise and critique the minnows.
The other half will go to pay for, and interest to, those who delegate SP to the project, which increases the payout for minnows.
What will I personally take from it? Nothing, unless I either (a) delegate SP or (b) spend my time mentoring.
So the payment to mentors encourages the mentors to provide quality mentoring.
The Payment to delegates encourages them to loan us their SP, which helps the minnows.
The service is FREE to minnows under 50 reputation. Over that, I ask for a donation (which is completely up to the individual what they give...there's no set amount, they can give 0.1SBD if thats what they think the service is worth).
All the earnings generated will go into making @minnowmentor a worthwhile thing to be involved in, either as a minnow wanting mentoring or as a mentor/delegate wanting to help it to deliver a service.
There are no "management fees" or anything like that. The entire wallet is transparent. Everyone knows the score. So I'm struggling to find anything shady about it. I have also asked for witnesses and whales to observe it, because I want @minnowmentor to be as clear as possible. If this is a scam it's a really weird one!
So you might ask what do I get out of it? Well, first of all I believe in the concept of givers gain. If I help someone, genuinely and freely without asking for reward, I karmically believe it will all come back to me.
I believe in Steemit, the ecosystem, the concept and think I have something to offer in terms of development in the future. I would like to be a witness, and the best witnesses aren't those with the most money, they are those who have proven that they have done a lot for the good of the community. In my businesses, my reputation is everything. I regularly give pro-bono hours to people who need help. So as offline so online to misquote a famous phrase.
Ok ok, you have me now, I think I just was not taking enough time to understand what your concept is!
I am trying to build something a little bit different from your idea, but still the end result would be the same, to make the community stronger and let more people earn faster money. I will present it next week.
Looking forward to it.
