The mind of a warrior is a strange one. I do not speak for all warriors, but I wish to share with you who I am through the medium of music.
I decided to share some of my favorite music with you in order to give you insight into the mind of a career warrior.
I am, and will always be a Marine. Not an hero, not someone to be lauded. Just a man who has a great love of freedom and his fellow man and their welfare.
The world will always need its defenders. Defenders of the weak. Those that will risk their own safety for the safety of others. We are not heros or heroines. We are what providence and the universe has made us. Not a choice, just who we are.
This is a great honor bestowed upon us. Women and men that have dealt with the horrors of what war is, and spend the rest of our days with the ghosts of our fallen comrades and our enemies.
Please do not thank us for our service. I hate that. Instead, please try to understand us, though you never will. Accept us a part of the community and not someone you have to walk on eggshells around. We have not chosen who we are, fate has done that.
This is, no doubt, my all time favorite song. The words reflect the feelings within the deepest parts of my soul. Many of us warriors wish for peace above all things.
Where do I gain the strength to continue? Why have I not put a bullet in my head? Hard questions. It is because I look to the hills where comes my strength. My strength comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth.
I got a little secret for you all. There are no atheists in foxholes. The first word out of their mouth is, Oh, my God. This is not something I have heard, this is something I have experienced. As a leader of Marines, it was my duty to them to comfort them. Even though I was just as afraid as they were. I loved my men, I was their big brother. That was what my job was all about.

We are going nowhere. We will not go to Canada when things get rough in this Nation. We will fight for right. We are the defenders of the United States of America. We will continue to do what it takes to make our Nation the leader of the free world. By fighting anyone domestic or foreign that would oppress the weak, and create fascism here and abroad.
