California Steem
Hey, my name is Aaron Gendle, and I am super pumped to be a part of the Steemit community.
I am happily married to my wife Natalie with 3 amazing children (third not seen in the below).
We love to hang out and watch the latest cartoons or go to the movie (Popcorn store as my son calls it) theater together. We also love the park, fishing, and so much more ...
We now live in the Des Moines, Iowa metro where my wife grew up.
I am a California boy and lived there until after college, when my wife and I got married.
Growing up in California gave me some amazing opportunities.
Beautiful San Francisco, Yosemite, Monterey, Sierra Mountains, Ocean, Rivers, Lakes, Golf Courses, and much more, were all at my fingertips.
After living in Berkeley, CA and San Rafael, CA for a couple years after being married, we decided to try our luck in Des Moines, IA.
That’s where I got a fortune 100 job and become a data expert.
After a few years in Iowa, we had the CA itch again. We had some dreams of living right on the beach in southern, CA.
So, we made it happen.
We picked up and fixed up and old Airstream. We put a lot of work into it.
Then, I convinced my boss to let me work remotely, and we were off to the beach in sunny Huntington Beach.
I got to surf, run on the beach with my dog, where flip flops & shorts, EVERY DAY!
We even started a surf inspired fitness gym called G60fit.
Fast forward a couple years, our second child was on the way, and figured it would be nice to be closer to family.
So, after all the amazing adventures, we sold our airstream, sold our business, and moved back to Iowa.
Boy was there a lot going on at that time.
We had purchased a townhome in Huntington Beach, so we were selling that, moving cross country, developing plans to build a custom home, our second child was on the way, and I was starting a new job.
All this stress built up.
What happened next, was very shocking to me.
Curing the Incurable
I started having symptoms of Irritable Bowel Disease, a chronic (incurable) stomach disease.
Before being diagnosed, because that takes time, I had an idea I might have Crohn’s Disease.
I researched every forum, every blog, every website, every book I could find to discover anything that could relieve my symptoms naturally.
I was so scared of starting medication because most of the medication destroys or severely weakens your immune system.
Having been in the fitness world really helped me to believe in natural solutions.
Well, what happened next was a miracle.
I started applying some of the things I was learning.
I kept getting better and better.
Meanwhile, I went through the process of getting a colonoscopy to get a more certain diagnosis.
Then, I got the call …
“Aaron, you have Crohn’s”
Even though I know I was getting better, that news really hit me.
Imagine being told you have a disease that has no cure.
I know, many of you have had this news and do not need to imagine.
So, you know how I felt …
I kept pressing forward with what was working for me. Primarily, I did a 180 with my diet.
I was on a very low inflammation diet where I consumed a great number of fruits and vegetables.
How?
Juicing and Smoothies!
By the time I got into the office to see the gastroenterologist (GI tract doctor), my symptoms were all gone, and I felt amazing!
The Dr. said …
“I have never seen anyone walk into my office without symptoms after being diagnosed. You look great! Keep doing what you are doing”
Since then, I have been 99% symptom free and medication free.
The key has been, minimizing stress, and eating healthy. Especially juicing and smoothies.
I thought I would share this story in case anyone is going through something similar and could use some inspiration.
What’s Going on Now
Besides the busy family life ...
I own multiple companies and work as a data consultant.
I am constantly investing (reading, going to conferences, taking classes) in myself to grow and become a better me as I truly believe this is the path to happiness and success.
Currently I am focused on writing books, blogging, and developing courses all to motivate and help others.
I believe there is so much more life beyond the 9 to 5. There are so many more flexible options that can provide freedom in our lives.
I really want to spread this message and help others achieve it in their lives.
This is a big journey, but I believe it starts with …
- Self Development – Create a successful mindset.
- Go Big - Dreaming Big and creating Big Goals.
- Believe - Believing you can accomplish your Goals without a doubt.
- Take Action - Constant, relentless action to reach your goals.
- Daily Goals - Reading, writing, and updating goals, on a daily basis, to remind yourself of your mission.
- Set New Goals - Setting new amazing goals often, deep and wide.
- Repeat - Repeating the process.
Life is so exciting, when you have big dreams and believe they are possible.
I was in a small or shrinking mindset for a very long time.
I need to save this and save that. Or get a good deal on this, don’t go on vacation, don’t buy this or that.
Life sucks when you think this way. It takes the joy out of life.
Instead, I have changed my mindset to think big, really big.
Instead of thinking about not buying this or that. I tell myself, what can I do to buy it. Or, $50 or $100 is not much, a million dollars is a lot, not $100.
I also believe if I want something, I can get it. Thinking this way opens my mind and allows it to finding solutions that will it into being.
Try and think this way and it will rock your world.
Super Stoked for Steemit – Thanks Jerry Banfield!
Again, I am super excited to write on Steemit. I have blogged for many years and I truly look forward to helping the Steemit community.
I want to thank @JerryBanfield for showing me what a great platform Steemit is.
I also joined Jerry as a Partner and I super excited to be a part of his Mastermind.
If you want to do great things, and be great, you have to hang around great people like Jerry.
Stop hanging around people you don’t want to be like. Step away and ask yourself, do you want to be like your friends, colleagues, and even family?
As Jim Rohn says …
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
So, I encourage us all to dig deep and question who we associate with most.
Take a look at Jerry’s Mastermind if you need a recommendation.
I look forward to seeing you all on Steemit!
