Introducing: Some Guy with a Laptop

Who am I?

I haven't the foggiest idea. Who I am seems to change with each passing day. Today, I'm just some guy with a laptop and a head full of stories.

I would say that I'm a writer, but that would be unfair to the real writers out there. I guess you could say I'm a writing enthusiast; I love to write, I've just never done it professionally. I mostly write short fiction, although I have a few novels in the works that I'm very excited about (not to jinx it). I'll be looking forward to sharing some of my stories here. Hopefully they'll be well-received, but I'm not hoping to get rich or famous. I write because I love to write; writing for the sake of money or notoriety goes against my ethos. Still, it's satisfying to know that someone else enjoyed something I created, so if you see something you like, let me know.

You can also let me know if you see something you hate. But you don't have to.

Other than writing, my passtimes include listening to music, playing video games, and counting the gray hairs on my head. I got my first one when I was 17. Eleven years later, I think the ratio has finally shifted in favor of the grays. I look like an old man and feel like a teenager. I suppose that's as good a personal summary as any.

As for why I decided to join Steemit, I suppose it's more curiosity than anything else. Saying that I've never written professionally is a bit of an understatement; most of what I write never gets seen by more than two or three people, so putting my work in such a public place is slightly terrifying. However, I'm intrigued by the ideas behind Steemit (and cryptocurrency in general), so let's just give it a whirl and see how it goes. I'm looking forward to trying something new.
