Hello world, everything good?
I’m going to tell you a little about this journey, which was discovering new ways of being optimistic in the world and seeking, for example, in a world so disenchanted, new ways of financing public goods, new mechanisms of social coordination, a whole new universe for me, which was and it’s getting into the habbit role of bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain, web3, onchain, whatever you want to call it.
Well, I’m Felipe, you can call me “fcarva”.
I’m 25 years old, I’m Brazilian and I live on an island called Vitória, Espírito Santo. It’s not a Robinson Crusoe island - google it, chatgpt, whatever - but it’s a place that taught me how to live with the ecosystem.
Respect the fishermen, the local community and its traditions - much is culture and ancestral traditions that are transmitted through stories, manners, food, parties.
The pleasure of getting around by bicycle and tearing through the city, being able to arrive faster than an Uber - being able to save money on an Uber to pay for the beer.
Since I was a kid, I’ve always liked to play (Habbo Hotel, Priston, Dota, Magic), which today makes me look at the internet sometimes as nostalgia and sometimes as a dystopian future.
I see a lot of similarity between web2 and web3 projects — Philand project (I'm a fan) is very similar to a Habbo Hotel web3.
I alternated between online games and the basketball court, I spent a lot of time on that.
I entered the faculty of economics to understand the world, I studied everything there from economic history, game theory, economic growth theory - macroeconomists 🤔 - most of the time dedicated to academia. The university opened the way for me to travel more in Brazil and understand different realities, debates and perspectives.
Some volunteer work that I participated in during graduation was the construction of an "Emergency Agenda" during the Bolsonaro government to catalog acts and behaviors of state authorities that may endanger freedom and democracy in Brazil.
In my course completion work, I studied the Belo Monte hydroelectric plant, a discussion on whether we as a country should make the trade off of the Amazon rainforest versus the development of the energy sector.
When I graduated, I started working with recycled plastic, inspired by the open-source Precious Plastic project.
Basically my first approach to open source, Precious Plastic taught me that knowledge should be free, machines around the world with low tech, socially scalable and economically viable build a coordinated decentralized global community to tackle the plastic problem.
We opened one here in Espírito Santo and started working with environmental education and upcycling of plastic waste. Called Precious Plastic Espírito Santo and it's here at Hive before me. Follow @preciousplastes
It was from then on that these new social coordination tools began to connect with projects that I was part of.
I joined a community called @surfhive started writing posts with my bro about my project and earned my first tokens.
After a while I started studying and I’m here today:
- interested in becoming an onchain data analyst (dune analytics)
- studying more programming, producing texts and newsletters, starting to translate into Portuguese - a lot of things that are not being talked about.
- delving into the theme of Refi, quadratic funding, public goods and new ways to fund projects
I participated in my first online hackhaton by ETHGlobal, me and 3 more got together on discord and did a project called Dádiva. It was an attempt to create an educational tool for the quadratic funding calculator.
This year I participated for the first time in an IRL crypto event. It took place in Rio de Janeiro, ETHRio and ETHSamba.
seeing the community grow here in Brazil made it clear to me that my blockchain journey is just beginning
Thank you very much and we will follow this road, if you have any suggestions, feedback, feel free to come and exchange ideas
And thank you so much @crisciacm for doing my onboarding at Hive!

A maior parte do tempo dedicado à academia.
Welcome aboard! I'll delegate some resource credits to help you comment and post more often while you get started. The best way to build a good audience is to be a good audience for others, so create conversations! You mentioned economics, so what are your about the various schools of economic thought?
Be sure to write down your keys and keep them somewhere safe. Here is another writer's overview of which keys do what. Beware of scammers who promise quick riches or mystery airdrops, and don't enter your keys anywhere carelessly.
The HIVE community tends to be welcoming, but rewards may drop off after your introduction. Remember that the biggest advantage to our platform is the resilience of a blockchain where you own your content. Persevere! The path to success is not always fast and easy. Avoid plagiarism and spam in your posts. You'll make progress in due time. Here's a great post from another blogger with some helpful advice, too.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I don't have all the answers, but I am glad to help if I can.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I'm studying to write content about economics. Would you recommend the LeoFinance community to me?
LeoFinance seems to be more about finance than economic theory, but it wouldn't be a bad choice. There is also an economics community, and I think you could cross-post from LeoFinance to that group.
Are you familiar with the Mises Institute? There seems to be a significant Brazilian interest.
Got it about LeoFinance. About Mises, this movement grew with the MBL in the 2013 protests here in Brazil. I'm more interested into anarchism like Bakunin. See you around the Hive, hugs. 😆
I lean more toward the market as a practical path of anarchism, but any voluntary system is valid. Mutualism, communism, etc. if chosen freely and conditioned upon consent do not offend me in the slightest! Bakunin and Proudhon are definitely worth reading. I just find the premises of some of their arguments are lacking.
We run a society with contracts from the 17th century, with an economy from the 19th/20th century and with a technological potential of the 21st century. We need social and economic coordination, why not blockchain? I'm here for the debate. It will be a pleasure to have your comments on future texts.
Blockchains can be part of the future. I hesitate to say it's a panacea. I like crypto, but I also like silver. Art NFTs were a fad, but they have potential to transform how we manage titles to goods, tickets to events, and transactions in general.
Seja bem vindo ao Hive.

Hello, @fcarva! Congratulations on your first post, and welcome to Hive Blockchain! The blockchain world has many deep secrets, but I'm sure you will enjoy your journey, especially with Hive.
Well, you can explore the communities that are suitable for your content. You can read about the communities supported by OCD in this post [https://peakd.com/@ocdb/ocd-communities-incubation-program-update-123]
For tips and information as a Hive newbie, click here: newbie guide.
The important thing is Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog. You can't include content that you don't own without sources. For more information, check this post: Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise.
If you have questions or concerns, you can hop into OCD's Discord server and we'll gladly answer your questions.
Have a great day!
