Welcome Post! from Switzerland! :-)

This is my first real blog post ever and I'd like to introduce myself in a few words. My name is David and i live in Zueberwangen. It's a little village which is located in the canton St.Gallen. I'll introduce to you in another post.

First of all, let me tell you something about Switzerland. If you ask people what they know about Switzerland there are always four answers.

• chocolate

(brands like lindt sprüngli, frey, milka, toblerone and alot more are well known all over the world) note: It's totally justified to know them ;-)

• money

(If you watch movies, read newspaper or watch the news you should defenetly heard about Switzerland and the banksystem. Known as the safest banks in the world)

• knifes

(yeyeye, the swiss army knife, you see them all over the world, most popular place are the airports. quality as it best)

• watches

(Rolex, Swatch, IWC, Cartier, Omega, Tissot, Patek, these are all brands from swiss watches)

These are the most populare things people know about Switzerland.

But I'd like to tell you something about Switzerland which not many people know.

We have four national languages:
German , French, Italian and Romansh. German is my first language. I can speak a bit French but it's really bad. One reason for me to start with this blog was to train my English skills, especially to improve my writing style.

I'm a part-time student in mechanical engineering. In addition i work at a start-up company which is into developing and produce devices to measure the coating thickness.

About this blog, I have some small projects which are not only based in technique and I would like to share this projects with you guys and keep you updated. I'll defenetly also post alot of images from my projects but also from random things.

Last but not least i post every once in a while an motivational quote from a speaker that has inspired me in to get things done. Probably also some well done compilations of the nicest places in Switzerland (maybe also from places all over the world).

The first project I'd like to tell you more about is calles "Trees for the Earth". The projects is a small donation which i founded half a year ago. This donation should remind all the people about the beauty of the nature and that we should care about our planet.

I spent and spend alot of time in the nature. This started already in my childhood, when my parents took me and my sisters to the forest, gardens or just for a walk in the nature. Thats why I also try to grow my own vegtables or have a wild be house at home, but more about that in another post.

What we (trees for the earth) do:

Trees for the Earth sells jewellery, that celebrates the beauty of nature. For every necklace or pendant sold, we plant a tree in the project Plants for the Planet.

The organisation isn't made for profit, I'ts all for the planet.
