It Has Begun

Yes, the title may be a bit dorky as it's a line from a classic movie, Mortal Kombat. One would say I am a nerd and you know what, that's perfectly fine by me. I embrace that title as it's who I am. I've always been into the nerdy side of things like, watching Doctor Who with my parents as a kid. We're talking way back in the day when they played episodes on PBS. Getting our first computer and being amazed by the awesomeness of DOS6.2 and coming into the world Windows 3.1. Yes, I'm dating myself but I think the late 80's and early 90's was a very interesting time when started to play around with the very early days of the internet and now looking at how far we've come in such a short amount of time.

I think what interests me the most is that even though we have all of these great things, we're still drawn to finding the simpler things. Take for example indie games, yes, these games may appear lower in quality to many AAA titles but they have so much heart poured into them. The people or even at times the single person who created it wanted to show the world what they've created. To provide players a chance to relive the older times of simple platformers with a newer twist. To do something that they themselves have never done before while learning constantly failing are just steps up the ladder.

My point being, there are many of us that look to try new things on a constant basis. To learn and to help others with each bit of knowledge gained is something I love. We may fail so many times or never reach a goal but, the one thing that brings us together is the willingness to get up and continue on.

I still remember being so amazed when my father showed me how (back in the early 80s) I could create a database on his computer to catalog all my albums. I lost my mind when he got a bootleg version of Asteroids installed too... 😂

And speaking of dating yourself & being a nerd, my very first post on the internet was in the alt.tv.xena Usenet group, so... 🤣

I agree with your point & it's a great reminder of what Emerson said - "Life is a journey, not a destination." Nice to see your Hive journey has begun.
