The problem with all popular social media is an illusion that they're free... when they're really not.
They are just marketing companies with: commodity ⬄ product ⬄ account ⬄ user ⬄ person
What's the value of such product?
I'm not sure - but lets look at just 2 Facebook transactions:
- 19 billion USD to WhatsApp for 500 million users.
- 1 billion USD to 30 million users.
let's round to $20 billion for .5 billion users.
Thats $40 each user.
How long will it take for a Steem user to make that much? It depends on how much you contribute to the project.
Steem is really the only Social Networking application that I know of - rest have turned to Social Media companies.
