hey steem-community,
this is my first post over here, so i want to introduce myself...
i hope you like it and have a good time reading / watching it, also if my
english is not perfect :-)
my name is sandro, i´m 33 years old and i´m living in germany.
i studied pedagogics and sociology at an university and finished
with a "master of arts". today i´m working as a counselor / social worker in
an consulting center for juvenile people.
besides going to school / studies / work i always had tons of hobbys... f.e.
i used to play guitar in several punkbands and rode bmx passionately for about
10 years. but dued to some injurys (and an aging body;-) i had to quit riding
my little bike someday.
at this time i started to get interested in rc flying, especially 3D-helicopters.
i was stunned how the pro-guys on youtube (tareq alsaadi, bert kammerer etc.)
threw their totally overpowered helicopters through the air, just like there was
no gravity. somehow this reminded me of skating / bmxing, because it was all
about creative moves, different styles and awesome spots...
i needed to check that out, so i organised an rc-simulator for my pc and
started practicing. and duude, starting out was difficult... it took about months
to safely hover in one spot, let alone flying around without getting a knot i the
brain ;-) but somehow i progressed and felt safer over the time.
after severals months of "dry training" i finally bought my first
micro 3D helicopter (the blade mcpx v1, for those who know ;-)
this was awesome. finally i was flying "a real thing", even if it was still a tiny
one... so lots of crashes and repairs were following, but my basic flying and my
technical knowledge progressed step by step.
until today i had about 10 different helicopters in different sizes. some of them
crashed totally, some of them got sold, some of them i still have. my actual heli
fleet consists of a chase 360 from kds, an goblin 500 from sab and an trex 700L
from align.
if you guys are interested in the technical details of my equipment just let me know,
i can get more into this in a future post. at this point i prefer to show you a short
clip of me flying the trex 700l about a year ago (still need to shoot some actual heli footage ;-):
in the beginning of 2017 i extended my rc-hobby and got into fpv flying additionally... fpv
means "first person view" and is about racing quadcopters that have a little camera on board.
the cam is sending the video feed live into an videogoogle, so you can fly your "drone" like
sitting on top of it...
there is also a gopro session 4 on top of the quad, so i can record some hd-footage while flying. and since this is recording nearly every single flight theres tons of footage... thats why i decided to share my flying experiences with you guys... i chose steemit over youtube-only and facebook because i´m a little into cryptos too and i really like the concept behind steemit. also, i got bored from the facebook community. there are just too many people trying to spread their stuff ;-)
so here we go now... i gonna post videofootage of fun sessions, nice flyingspots and progressing skills on a regularly basis. at the moment i´m still using youtube as a video host, but i´m looking for an alternative because the quality of the uploaded videos is quite awful compared to the original file.
however, i hope there are some guys out there who enjoy watching me having fun. as always, feel free to comment, ask, upvote, criticize,...
here´s some actual footage of my homespot i use to fly quite often... i cut some scenes together and added some (license free) music :-)
ok, thats it for now... thanks a lot for reading such a long text and have fun with the flying videos :-)
best regards,
sandro / kaoskwad
