As someone who's an artist with a blog here that's a complete shit-show from start to finish, by looking at this chaos here, I think you'll do just fine.
Be yourself, stay unique, keep it interesting, don't get lazy or expect a free lunch. Ignore the noise, the haters etc. Don't let them suck you down to their level. Those are the kinds of things I'd say if I actually felt like giving advice but I could probably do a better job.
I'll 'reblog' this and that might help put you on the map here but it's also a good idea to get out there and mingle when you have time. It's really easy to be invisible on this platform if one simply posts, then waits for the magical crypto fairy to arrive with gifts. The magical crypto fairy, isn't real.
Hive has an NFT platform you might be interested in as well. https://nftshowroom.com/
thanks, yeah, the same is true on $DeSo. i can definitely get caught up just posting one thing after another all day long, and then many times it's not until i start going and commenting that people seem to notice my posts. not because they were noticing my absense, more that my absense is why they weren't seeing my posts. i'm still learning everything so i haven't really gotten into the right way to find the kind of content i like, but since i'm kinda now a creator, really i just like interacting with other creators, doesn't matter so much if what they create is specifically something i like- the process of creating and then the process of sharing are super interesting to me to talk with others about!
i like to interact with people, whether it's on-chain or off. so i'm really not too worried about this part cause i know i'm genuine and i know i come across that way. i'm fairly blunt and to the point (when not talking about myself lol) but friendly, and it's just easy on these platforms where we can earn directly- because there's no hidden agenda for creators like there tends to be on web2 platforms. it makes things a lot more relaxed. (though, since i also have nsfw content, i can never relax completely but that's ok i have my cats lol)
thanks again!!! 😊
Constant posting doesn't really gel with the system here. These upvotes we have or 'likes' or whatever they want to be called, we can only press that button roughly ten times per day at full power. If I press it, I hand out nearly four bucks. Half for you, half for me. That value goes down the more I press it and it has to recharge, so I'd be ripping myself off and the 'tips' or votes wouldn't be worth anything at all if I completely drained the power. With limited votes to hand out in a day, people like to spread it around to as many people as possible as well. Quality over quantity is usually wise around here. If you just feel like shitposting all day, that could be combined into one or two Ultimate Shit Posts, for instance. There are no actual 'rules' but the votes are limited so people just end up shooting themselves in the foot and working harder, for less pay, if they go nuts posting. When I started here I stuck to one post per day and spend the rest of the time mingling.
And yeah you don't come across as a phony. Sense of humor is good to have too. This place can be kinda stiff at times...
oh, yeah, just the user interface alone lets me know the type of content expected. if i'm posting an image to an image community, that's where i may have a short post. i'm not interested in just writing trite garbage. but you know - i have heard some EXCELLENT inspirational sayings lately, and i had thought to just post a single one per hour for the next 7 days. 🤢
after seeing your post- and wow, really, that was like an article or a serious blog post (i don't mean by the contents of it, in case that seems to imply anything bad- i mean the length and how you had things broken up so nicely)- it makes me wonder if everything is like that here. cause i was thinking things would be more like reddit (cough somethingawful), but trying to put something together like your post... i mean, i'm certainly not going to sell myself short, i could do it, it's just not a skill i have developed! but that's why my first reply to you said that i still had things to learn. i need to just see more of what everyone else is doing (and i need to get a sense of a kind of hierarchy or ranking system so that i will know if you're like 100 levels above me- if so, then i can probably breathe more easily).
I heard an inspirational saying once. "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear." And inside was a picture of me, somehow. So from that point on I became better friends with myself.
Now, if that lame ass joke was to be included in one of my posts somehow, I'd be sitting here for an hour staring at it, reworking it, until it's actually funny haha and not just funny huh?
No, not everyone posts like me. I create all the art and try to make the thoughts flow. I focus on entertainment. I might be the only one who does things, that way. People seem to like it and I enjoy doing it. It's my style I guess. Everyone has their own style in a way. So if you're new to content creation in general just know the style develops over time. I taught myself everything I know. Looking back at some of my first stuff I published here, I think it's total crap, but at the time, it was awesome.
As for 'levels', I dunno. I'm just some dude that writes shit from time to time and makes weird pictures on a laptop, and for some strange reason people like it. I think anyone can do it, their way, if it's what they want to do, and find success.
i very much appreciated the joke. i like absurdity. i mean, everything is absurd when i really think about it, and i prefer to enjoy life after all.
though it's almost 5am and oh- holy hell, i've been using this site with the zoom level set to 80%. i was about to say how difficult it was starting to get to read the text on my screen when a thought occurred to me. i had been thinking how this site must have had parts of the UX handled strictly by a programmer, but nope, i'm just an idiot.
and yes i know what you mean about developing a style. over on DeSo getting to a style felt organic, somehow in less than 2 months i made it into the top 10 of all users in terms of engagement (for this last week) when i never had any social media presence outside of just school friends in the past. it feels a little weird now being in a strange land, maybe i worry my style might becoming tiring in a longer format, but it's good to challenge myself. and i worry needlessly quite often.
certainly it can't become tiring to me or anyone else just maintaining a kind of light-hearted, sweet-yet-sneaky kinda mood. (っ˘ڡ˘ς) and i never go all out anime girl, the occasional cute emoticon isn't going to be a problem^^ - i think the main thing will be that over on DeSo, when i write seriously, it's because i'm calling into question things about the platform, and i don't know anything about this platform yet. where is the community for platform gossip? 🤣
you seem to have the kind of humor that i appreciate, so i'm happy to have found your stuff. or maybe you found me. whatever, it worked out.
and
omgi probably should sleep, your avatar can't change over time can it? i swear your avatar is looking at me and snarling all of a sudden and i guess before i had never looked straight at it. jesus christ lol. is it fucking animated??There's platform politic shit happening here all the time. Every day there's a new quitter and it's everyone else's fault or something went wrong and now the world is ending. According to some this place was doomed five years ago and they've stuck around this long just to say that, every single frickin day...
If you enjoy that stuff, you'll definitely find some, but there's no actual place for it. I've suggested the platform would benefit from such a place but it's usually when people are huffing and puffing and not in the mood for me and my dumb ideas again.
And nope, that's not animated. It's just possessed. Most of my art is. I'm used to it. We're all friends now.
Was nice meeting you. See you around.
hey yeah i desperately needed sleep and sleep i got lol
i mean a place for gossip about the platform itself, i guess i don't mean gossip so much as stuff like "immutability is cool for financial stuff but for social stuff it sure sucks right? are there other data models that could be used to give all the other benefits of b-chain while allowing for editing of some of the content? and how can it track views if requiring a txn on every view would probably be just too much for the poor b-chain and what pays for it"
and like where people might talk about upcoming projects but without the devs there necessarily.
but yes also i like to know about people causing drama just cause it provides great insight into the truth about a community LOL
it was awesome meeting you, you helped make the platform instantly interesting (-‿◦)

The A-gull and B-gull weren't quite right.
@kitty4d, I sent you an $LOLZ on behalf of @theabsolute
Use the !LOL or !LOLZ command to share a joke and an $LOLZ. (1/4)
"and an $LOLZ."
does this bother anyone else? when it's LOL, mentally i can easily see thinking "el oh el" or "lolll", but when it has the Z, there is NO way I think "el oh el zee", therefore, it's "lolz", which would use the article "a" not "an"
you know, just thought i'd give you something to laugh about also
