the stuff that i make, is this thing on pt2

in #intro-post3 years ago

okay cool wow, someone has been helping me kinda understand things but i'm sure it's still going to take a bit, i haven't had much time to read links people have sent me yet either but i will make it more of a priority now..

i don't know the best way to thank people here, thank you to the people that have liked my posts so far~ it was a nice surprise when i checked today!

alright so i'll try to do a proper intro now. i might ramble a bit but i'll try to stay focused, i have adhd and i also just get nervous introducing myself lol

  • i do web development (javascript, php, some python, a little bit of other stuff)
  • i used to be a camgirl (i learned javascript during that time)
  • i never created "content" that i released on any platform until i joined DeSo on November 13, but now that i'm finding places that have methods by which creators are actually able to earn, somehow i now have the dream to be able to just be a content creator. (where web develoment is still creating content, but if i could focus that development onto a particular platform and not for clients, that would be what i would love)

(i have a fansly, i'm not trying to promote it but https://fansly.com/kitty4D - in my bio, if you click read more, i include my bio page on peakd.com - though maybe verification isn't so much a deal here, on DeSo people can rug pull but i guess that's not a thing here!)

also i have other crypto experience. bitcoin, eth, SHIB (where my shibarmy at woof woof lol), gala, solana, I have a Shadowy Super Coder SSC NFT with GenesysGo #SSCDAO...

a friend set me up on DeSo, and told me I should just try making an NFT because it is super easy there. i use photoshop for work stuff and play around with it, but had never made something that i intended to show the world as any kind of artistic expression for sure. i figured i would at least try something out though. i didn't want to just do a total low effort attempt of course. i have an iPad/Pencil combo i also use to draw things if i want and a few other image editing applications besides photoshop. already the only kind of stuff i made that wasn't for work was just editing photos of myself. so that's where i started. i work with photos i took, i look for things i would like to incorporate, if they're from my own photos i might copy/paste and then edit, if they're from other places (and when it's meant as an NFT), i recreate it on my own since i make sure i am very strict about how i treat copyright. then i use all the tools i have to make something that i think is pretty, really.

so when i started on DeSo, all i was doing my first week was creating images to list as NFTs. i could maybe do one a day. a few sold, of course i was putting the bidding under $1, i was just trying to learn what might work if it would work at all.

i did come to find out that individuals just making NFTs like that where it's just a standalone image (no utility) would probably not be worth my time. but i was also interacting with the community and having fun.

i started writing little short stories, blurbs really, about my cat and that my cat was terrorizing me and demanding beer from me. that was fun lol. and well, i'm still not 2 months in to doing it, but the types of content that i guess are in my repertoire now are:

  • i still make NFTs, though now i make a kinda mocking-NFTs thing where i call it a limited series, every image starts from the same base image (like it's a PFP generative thing) and i draw different traits. the images all look pretty different. and i've sold most of those (now that i have friends in the community that helps). one might be going into space soon too~ which would be so cool.

  • i make meme images. i do them of people involved with the platform, like the founder, other "public figures" / people who kinda act as spokespeople for the platform. i do images, animated GIFs, and videos (using Vegas Pro).

  • i still occasionally write stories about my cat, ofc i also post photos of my cats from time to time (those posts tend to do way too well considering the effort i put in my other posts lol)

  • i write song lyrics and poetry though i have no experience with that really either (or writing short stories for that matter, all of this is new to me). maybe i'll include something i just made down below. it's not serious stuff, as you'll see, and the one i'll include is a bit meme-ish for DeSo so people here won't necessarily get the jokes, but whatever, it's just an example lol

  • i have nsfw content that i release on a site that integrates with the DeSo blockchain, but where my content does not go on a blockchain, and people can only see it via crypto. i do this with my past webcam broadcasts and i've also recorded some new stuff. (but this is not a job i consider myself still doing, i just have all of my content and i own the rights- i also never considered releasing it since i didn't think it was really possible, so this also started only because of becoming a kinda content creator lol)

  • i like to think about the blockchain and how things are implemented (i don't know anything about hive yet to know what to question) and i write questions and thoughts about it.

  • i am building a website now that will run off of data from the DeSo blockchain

  • i like to help other developers by QAing, i have also given code/CSS to help, and i also love to proofread. (just because i don't capitalize letters and sometimes will write in a silly way in posts, it is because i have almost created a kind of online persona that i find helps me create the content that does well, so i keep it up as much as i can, it sounds weird to me but it's true that it seems to help!)

  • and i just like to write stuff that i think is funny

anyway certainly i'm going to keep posting, i don't expect anyone to care enough to ask me questions now, though if you do of course i'll reply.

for a REALLY quick and easy and nice way to get a sense of different stuff i make, this website is in development by someone i know on DeSo and it's working great for this purpose - https://gemstori.com/kitty4D - everything there i've posted since november 13th, but keep in mind the standard view only will show image/video posts, and not my text-only posts.

but don't look at everything! i would like to post some of my early images here (the jupiter image, for instance, i made over a month ago but posted it when i had no followers on DeSo), so i don't want you to spoil it LOL. i just really can't post most of my memes and plenty of other images because they have references to DeSo which just won't make sense here! but i'll include a couple of them in this post right now.

ty for reading! and i did say i would include some silly lyrics, i'm embarrassed now to include them, but they're after the images LOL

actually it's easier to include the lyrics in the post in context. though the context was just someone asking "what is this?"

As someone who's an artist with a blog here that's a complete shit-show from start to finish, by looking at this chaos here, I think you'll do just fine.

Be yourself, stay unique, keep it interesting, don't get lazy or expect a free lunch. Ignore the noise, the haters etc. Don't let them suck you down to their level. Those are the kinds of things I'd say if I actually felt like giving advice but I could probably do a better job.

I'll 'reblog' this and that might help put you on the map here but it's also a good idea to get out there and mingle when you have time. It's really easy to be invisible on this platform if one simply posts, then waits for the magical crypto fairy to arrive with gifts. The magical crypto fairy, isn't real.

Hive has an NFT platform you might be interested in as well. https://nftshowroom.com/

thanks, yeah, the same is true on $DeSo. i can definitely get caught up just posting one thing after another all day long, and then many times it's not until i start going and commenting that people seem to notice my posts. not because they were noticing my absense, more that my absense is why they weren't seeing my posts. i'm still learning everything so i haven't really gotten into the right way to find the kind of content i like, but since i'm kinda now a creator, really i just like interacting with other creators, doesn't matter so much if what they create is specifically something i like- the process of creating and then the process of sharing are super interesting to me to talk with others about!

i like to interact with people, whether it's on-chain or off. so i'm really not too worried about this part cause i know i'm genuine and i know i come across that way. i'm fairly blunt and to the point (when not talking about myself lol) but friendly, and it's just easy on these platforms where we can earn directly- because there's no hidden agenda for creators like there tends to be on web2 platforms. it makes things a lot more relaxed. (though, since i also have nsfw content, i can never relax completely but that's ok i have my cats lol)

thanks again!!! 😊

Constant posting doesn't really gel with the system here. These upvotes we have or 'likes' or whatever they want to be called, we can only press that button roughly ten times per day at full power. If I press it, I hand out nearly four bucks. Half for you, half for me. That value goes down the more I press it and it has to recharge, so I'd be ripping myself off and the 'tips' or votes wouldn't be worth anything at all if I completely drained the power. With limited votes to hand out in a day, people like to spread it around to as many people as possible as well. Quality over quantity is usually wise around here. If you just feel like shitposting all day, that could be combined into one or two Ultimate Shit Posts, for instance. There are no actual 'rules' but the votes are limited so people just end up shooting themselves in the foot and working harder, for less pay, if they go nuts posting. When I started here I stuck to one post per day and spend the rest of the time mingling.

And yeah you don't come across as a phony. Sense of humor is good to have too. This place can be kinda stiff at times...

oh, yeah, just the user interface alone lets me know the type of content expected. if i'm posting an image to an image community, that's where i may have a short post. i'm not interested in just writing trite garbage. but you know - i have heard some EXCELLENT inspirational sayings lately, and i had thought to just post a single one per hour for the next 7 days. 🤢

after seeing your post- and wow, really, that was like an article or a serious blog post (i don't mean by the contents of it, in case that seems to imply anything bad- i mean the length and how you had things broken up so nicely)- it makes me wonder if everything is like that here. cause i was thinking things would be more like reddit (cough somethingawful), but trying to put something together like your post... i mean, i'm certainly not going to sell myself short, i could do it, it's just not a skill i have developed! but that's why my first reply to you said that i still had things to learn. i need to just see more of what everyone else is doing (and i need to get a sense of a kind of hierarchy or ranking system so that i will know if you're like 100 levels above me- if so, then i can probably breathe more easily).

I heard an inspirational saying once. "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear." And inside was a picture of me, somehow. So from that point on I became better friends with myself.

Now, if that lame ass joke was to be included in one of my posts somehow, I'd be sitting here for an hour staring at it, reworking it, until it's actually funny haha and not just funny huh?

No, not everyone posts like me. I create all the art and try to make the thoughts flow. I focus on entertainment. I might be the only one who does things, that way. People seem to like it and I enjoy doing it. It's my style I guess. Everyone has their own style in a way. So if you're new to content creation in general just know the style develops over time. I taught myself everything I know. Looking back at some of my first stuff I published here, I think it's total crap, but at the time, it was awesome.

As for 'levels', I dunno. I'm just some dude that writes shit from time to time and makes weird pictures on a laptop, and for some strange reason people like it. I think anyone can do it, their way, if it's what they want to do, and find success.

i very much appreciated the joke. i like absurdity. i mean, everything is absurd when i really think about it, and i prefer to enjoy life after all.

though it's almost 5am and oh- holy hell, i've been using this site with the zoom level set to 80%. i was about to say how difficult it was starting to get to read the text on my screen when a thought occurred to me. i had been thinking how this site must have had parts of the UX handled strictly by a programmer, but nope, i'm just an idiot.

and yes i know what you mean about developing a style. over on DeSo getting to a style felt organic, somehow in less than 2 months i made it into the top 10 of all users in terms of engagement (for this last week) when i never had any social media presence outside of just school friends in the past. it feels a little weird now being in a strange land, maybe i worry my style might becoming tiring in a longer format, but it's good to challenge myself. and i worry needlessly quite often.

certainly it can't become tiring to me or anyone else just maintaining a kind of light-hearted, sweet-yet-sneaky kinda mood. (っ˘ڡ˘ς) and i never go all out anime girl, the occasional cute emoticon isn't going to be a problem^^ - i think the main thing will be that over on DeSo, when i write seriously, it's because i'm calling into question things about the platform, and i don't know anything about this platform yet. where is the community for platform gossip? 🤣

you seem to have the kind of humor that i appreciate, so i'm happy to have found your stuff. or maybe you found me. whatever, it worked out.

and omg i probably should sleep, your avatar can't change over time can it? i swear your avatar is looking at me and snarling all of a sudden and i guess before i had never looked straight at it. jesus christ lol. is it fucking animated??

There's platform politic shit happening here all the time. Every day there's a new quitter and it's everyone else's fault or something went wrong and now the world is ending. According to some this place was doomed five years ago and they've stuck around this long just to say that, every single frickin day...

If you enjoy that stuff, you'll definitely find some, but there's no actual place for it. I've suggested the platform would benefit from such a place but it's usually when people are huffing and puffing and not in the mood for me and my dumb ideas again.

And nope, that's not animated. It's just possessed. Most of my art is. I'm used to it. We're all friends now.

Was nice meeting you. See you around.

!LOLZ

Seagulls were God's third attempt at creating birds.
The A-gull and B-gull weren't quite right.

@kitty4d, I sent you an $LOLZ on behalf of @theabsolute
Use the !LOL or !LOLZ command to share a joke and an $LOLZ. (1/4)

"and an $LOLZ."

does this bother anyone else? when it's LOL, mentally i can easily see thinking "el oh el" or "lolll", but when it has the Z, there is NO way I think "el oh el zee", therefore, it's "lolz", which would use the article "a" not "an"

you know, just thought i'd give you something to laugh about also

hey @lovesniper @indayclara i'm sorry i got so caught up getting acquainted with the site yesterday and it felt really exciting, and i totally missed that your last sentence in the comment on my other post said i could tag you in my intro! i certainly am happy to take you up on that offer for you to check out the kinds of things i like to do! 😁 hopefully tagging you here in a comment also works, i should know what i'm doing but of course different places can have different customs and i try to be careful about potentially committing any site-wide-no-nos LOL. thanks 😊

this is just a goofy image of me, i like to use images often so things are nice and fun and fresh :D

This is cool @kitty4d! Lol. Damn, loving the artistic and creative energy you got going! Yeah, Hive would be a bit overwhelming at first but this is the place for you! Since I joined Hive, I ain't looking back anymore.

Seeing you got a lot of hobbies and passion, make sure to explore the cool communities we got going here. Subscribe to the ones you like and share your blogs there so you can connect to like-minded people. You'll meet a lot of totally cool people like you along the way.

P.S. am enjoying your memes!

i'm correct thinking that there is no way to post to multiple communities at once, right? so that would actually require multiple posts with duplicate content, which isn't something i want to do. i just want to make sure that when i post i'm not missing out on having it be seen by other people that might like it.

also what's the right way for me to go find stuff that i like, and i guess reblog it to my own area? i think that's what is meant by curating? i see eventually i can claim an account, is the idea that i could use that extra account to set up something like that? (because i do like to have my "kitty4d" page/blog to strictly be my own content, but then i'd love to be able to help possibly give attention to other stuff that i like also)

and - sorry, i don't mean to just inundate you with questions (and i don't know if it's cool for me to simply tag other people on this comment to possibly see if anyone else can give answers!) - there are different sites, like i signed up at ecency, i use peakd for my posting, i notice some sites things that i post don't necessarily show up on my blog page at the others. is there some trick i must know

thx so much!! i made another meme-ish video just now but it's for a different platform, trying to say that i made this video to try to help the founder of that blockchain to get on the joe rogan podcast. i mean maybe it could help. if you wanna see it, dare to enter another blockchain for just one moment LOL -- oh nos another blockchain

(though if you look at some of my recent posts there, i was pitching Hive~)

Welcome to Hive.

thanks! 😁

Welcome to hive.

It is always in the best interest of humanity to be up front. I have to say then that, if I ever met you when I was younger and full of cojunas, I would whisper in your ears. "Let's not fall in love or the world will burn in our wake."

Or I hope you have a good time here whether it be PG rated or the adult kind.

Hive is not for the faint hearted.

lol well i have posted 2 things on https://www.dporn.co/@kitty4d but as you'll see these are actually images i made in the past as promos for nsfw content i have. i have the actual content on a different b-chain-for-social-media where there is a system kinda like subscriptions to view my content using crypto. (there's no recurring fees, though there are changes coming, since over time it would be not-so-feasible for me)

and if i find something similar here on hive, i'll for sure test it out. i am setting up my manyvids page right now too, and i have a fansly but i am not a fan and am kinda hoping to just direct people to my crypto places. i think manyvids might be ok. (but really i just like those sites because it helps provide some verification for me on blockchain places since i put links to my profiles on my bios there)

this doesn't mean i'm going to whisper anything back into your ear, though, i also like to be upfront 😄 i really enjoy creating my non-nsfw content and that's my main focus, and when i am on any of these sites where i can be earning by creating content, i go into a kind of "office mode" - and i really do prefer to always be blunt and upfront, and that means i don't ever intend to act flirty or give weird impressions to anyone in an attempt to sell content! i don't speculate on things that might happen in real life because this is not real life, and this is my office. 😁

but i am very happy to hear that it sounds like you enjoy things about my content for sure 😊 i have a lot of content and i am always creating more. (well i am always creating more mostly-sfw content, but i have a lot of nsfw content but it is not something i am actively still creating!)

i'm here to party! and by that, i mean work, but i am very crazy and silly, it's just part of the job~

Welcome. Your content sounds super varied and flexible.
The great thing about Hive is it can be whatever you want it to be. Use it however best fits your style of expression.
I use it to document the video work I do, but also occasionally to talk about other bits that interest me.

I’d say the key is to post regularly, always reply to comments, read other posts on topics that excite you and comment on them. Don’t expect upvotes.
Oh and power up your Hive for best curation returns.
You’ll do just fine!

thanks, yeah, i have some stuff powering up already. what i don't exactly understand yet is how frugal i must be giving positive vibes out. i must say it makes me sad to not give such vibes to every reply that i get. i'm actually holding off now and not giving any until i understand the system, but i'll get you back either when i find out it's all good or the next chance i have. (well, i don't know for sure if you gave me a vote at the moment, but i like engagement- and while a vote may have an immediate return, the engagement is a gift that keeps on giving)

i also need to see if there's a way to just see my notifications for replies instead of having everything mixed in together (on peakd). i'm sure there is something in the old dashboard.

thanks!!

Welcome to Hive!

thanks how can i get the number 69 next to my name?

image.png

That number is my reputation here. Upvotes and downvotes determine the reputation you have (the more upvotes you receive, the more your reputation goes up. The opposite with downvotes. This always taking into account the amount of Hive Power of the person).

oh i knew it wasn't something by choice 😊 at least, i didn't think so. i certainly didn't know exactly what it was, so thank you!
i'd be happy with it though 😁

We have a lot in common and I'm not just talking about the phone case. I hear they're on iPhone 30 now or something like that. Welcome to Hive, iPhone 8 user.

oh but i am interested to know what else we have in common because surely there are millions of people with the same phone? 😄

Yeah but the same pink, non-slip, velvety fabric liner havin case?? Hashtag ithinknot.

What the hell man. Did you try eating it?

You should see the bad side.

It fell in the toilet again, didn't it... ?

Getting it to sit still for a photo was exhausting. I see what you mean, I should've asked Santa when I had the chance.

Welcome! If @nonameslefttouse shared your stuff, then I have to follow you now!

Seems you are in the IT field doing web dev so we may have some things in common as well.

Best of luck.

thanks! i have an unquenchable thirst to create more content

i am working on a website right now, was going to be pulling in my content from the $DeSo blockchain. now i'm thinking i will want to try to get Hive in there too if it's possible. (posts just to display, not for interacting with)

Hey Joerhino. Good to see you. But yeah I'm just out looking for noobs again trying to help some folks out.

wooo hoo! nice and long and to the point! 😀
(still reading....lol)

i mean, if i'm earning when people like my posts, i owe it to everyone and myself to be comprehensive LOL

Ah, I'm WBC model too and I'm into NFTs as well. I have to ask: where are u from? Welcome to the hive community friend!

sorry, i always want to be super careful about not putting any PII out onto the b-chain, though right now i am in the miami area! but i haven't worked on cam since early october.

do you make NFTs? i sold some on DeSo, that's kinda what got me interested in making content in general
