Postal, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that by the end of 2018 every union of the country will be under optical fired broadband internet connection.
He said this while addressing the inaugural function of the Information Technology Show at Computer City Center, Multiply Plaza, Elephant Road, in the capital.
Referring to the implementation of the digital Bangladesh program, Bangladesh has reached the leadership position in the Information Communication Technology sector, the minister said, Bangladeshi software is using different countries of the world including the Ireland Police Department. The software engineers of this country are providing security to 1,000 flatplates in Japan while sitting in the country.
Mostafa Jabbar said Bangladesh is going to export computers in Nepal and Nigeria in February.
He hoped to create a nation-wide Internet Super Highway, he said, WiFi will be ensured in public places including universities, markets.
