[Movie] - Interstellar : best scenes + theory (English)

in #interstellar7 years ago (edited)

Hello everybody !

It's my first post on steemit and I'm French so please be cool with my english level ! ;)

I couldn't begin this post without thanking Mr Nolan for being such a great movie director. He's a genius !

He made such wonderfull movies, I don't know what you think about it but for god sake each movie from him is a "must have". Today I will speak about one of my favourite : INTERSTELLAR !
interstellar

=> If you haven't seen this movie yet, you need to go now and watch it immediatly, I assure you that you won't be disappointed !

BEST SCENES

On the emotional plan, 2 scenes are really outstanding for me :

  • When Cooper is seeing his daughter growing up in videos and began to cry. When his daughter is telling him that she has now the same age as him. WOAW ! Tons of emotions !

  • When Mann is sadistically speaking to Cooper when he's suffocating, tension is at its maximum and the music so properly calibrated. Such a selfish bastard ! But this scene is awesome ! :)

On the action plan, my favourite scene is when Cooper is docking the Endurance.... the ambiance is incredible and increase in power every seconds. My god... everytime I see it I boost the sound to maximum and I enjoy this pure moment of happiness. U-n-b-e-a-t-a-b-l-e ! COME ON TARS !

More seriously, I read a lot of posts on the internet to try to find a way to explain the whole thing about how Cooper in the future can help Cooper in the present. Okey, it's a temporal loop but what about the 1st iteration ?
I searched a lot and I found an interesting theory to resolve this mystery and I would like to share it with you.

THEORY

First, try to imagine how the movie would be/end if there wasn't gravity disturbances, if there wasn't Cooper crashing accident at the beginning of the movie, if there wasn't this wormhole from nowhere ?
=> Cooper will probably be still at the NASA because the crash (that we see on his dream at the beginning) won't happen !
=> Lazarus missions won't be launched because the wormhole won't be there. NASA will follow their project and will find an urgent solution to leave Earth, Cooper will be the pilot of this "final chance expeditionnary team" but humanity on Earth will die.

Now Imagine that this "final chance expeditionnary team" thanks to hypersleep and new technologies succeeded on finding a new planet to colonise (wich his Edmunds planet, the 3rd in the movie). Ok, probabilities are insane but just imagine this scenario.
=>Edmunds planet is now colonised by humans and is developping herself. With time and maybe new resources from Edmunds planet, humans improve their technology and find a way to control "Time"/"Gravity" and know how to manipulate it.
=>Humans from Edmunds planet are now thinking about saving humans from Earth who couldn't have been on the "final chance expeditionnary team". To do that, they need to give Earth the solution of the gravity equation.

And NOW, we can see the movie as Mr Nolan made it.
Edmunds planet manipulates gravity in the past to crash Cooper's ship and secure him for the next step.
Edmunds planet creates the wormhole to let Earth access Edmunds planet
Edmunds planet manipulates Time to let Cooper give himself NASA coordinates (same Cooper but not on the same spot of the timeline... tricky ^^)
Earth is sending Cooper into space
Edmunds planet manipulates Time and creates the tesseract to let Cooper send the solution of the gravity equation.
Humans form Earth are saved and they left Earth in the direction of Edmunds planet thanks to Lazarus's mission.
Humans from Earth now replace Humans from Edmunds planet that no longer exist because their past has been modified.

And that's it, this is my theory but I'm aware that this is a very strange theory with a lot of "if" and mulitple imprecisions. I probably missed some details that will refute this theory. :)

In fact, the 1st scene of the movie (Cooper's dream) is killing me because I think it is there to be part of something bigger. It's not really clear why Nolan wanted this, but there is inevitably a reason why provoking Cooper's accident with gravity anomaly.

Don't hesitate to comment this theory or to share what's your favourite scene. I'll be glad to talk about it.
COME ON TARS !!!!
