I despise it.
i learned how to write a website at the age of 14, true php, writing code, making tables and content into it...didn't have any money to put it online, in 2001 it was expensive to have a website and run it, not the 3-5$/year we have now.
then i went to advancing to multipage websites, all the links and crossreferences and menu building and making sites that makes sense, this was before the dynamic revolution, and i even made a sucessful and artistic site for my father's company with custom artwork all around, matching the companies style. and even tough i built it in dreamweaver (which is an oversimplifed gloryhole) i was proud i did it, and it served it's purpose for 6 years! and it was perfect for the nieche market of hi-fi enthusiasts reading articles, and browsing our products and services, or contacting us with an automated write-and-send-email function.
then came the blogger era and everything changed.
the "professionals" (not much more trained than me) started making skins and templates of dynamic looking websites, onto a basic database skeleton, and SELLING THEM. it became the big thing to have flashy dynamic sites without login! because of course we had that before, they were called forums! (obviously talking about the whiteNET)
and then the big companies saw the opportunity and started to give free dynamic webhosting to anyone, and if you agreed they could put their ads on it and make tons of money and give you a dime...and the fish bit...and the rest is history.
yet in today's age i find myself shaking my head, even on this platform, of what i see.
TWO WORDS:
THROWAWAY CONTENT
because here are so many of us doing exactly the same thing, now it gotten so dense, that nobody cares anymore, so the web hosters decided (why keep all this junk if nobody cares?) to make it self-destruct! yes i'm talking about stories and self deleting videos, and 8day old Dtubes...this is ridiculus!
no i don't just want to see a week of the internet! i want to be ablée to acess the whole history from the very first page to the very last! what's wrong with that? servers of course.
this is what makes us go toward the peer-to-peer internet...which will cache all data on all computers accessible by all...
oh you want privacy? then get out to the woods! nobody is private anymore and the era a patent trolls is coming to an end soon.
just dont make throwaway content please! don't participate! it's just there to keep you coming back because it has so little value you want more daily hourly minutely so you keep coming back and keep paying the ad-holders! for a couple of dime rewards?!?
anything i write, i do to keep the test of time, i don't do anything that will only exist but for a moment in internet-space, because then my effort is wasted!
this is what i also despise in this platform of steemit and dtube...
if i don't make content like a fucking ROBOT then i am worthless in this society...
really? that is what you want to promote? AI posting every second? something written by itself? meaningless crap to fill your meaningless life to keep you enter-tamed because you can't take it anymore but suicide looks too bad?
fucking grow some balls and start living.
