The key to a successful audit is good planning. If you don't take your time and do some sloppy planning, chances are you're going to waste a lot of time down the road with your audit. Assuming you already know what you're going to audit, or you're just following up on a previous audit, you may want to just take the previous audit workpapers, and update them which should be a lot quicker than starting from scratch.
