Have you ever had a piece of glass or a piece of silver and after you touch it there are fingerprints all over it? Do you remember how much work it took to remove those fingerprints? Scrubbing and rubbing to make sure those fingerprints no longer show so that it can look pretty and pristine.
Well, think about this. Our words are like fingerprints. Everything we say something to them it leaves something with them…whether it be positive or negative. You have left something behind with that person that can affect their day or even their life and no matter how hard you try to rub it away or scrub it away it is there.
So today I encourage you to think before you speak. What kind of fingerprint am I going to leave in this person’s life today? Will it be a fingerprint of love or a fingerprint of judgement? Will it be a fingerprint of kindness or a fingerprint of hatred? Even though you may not be able to see the fingerprints you leave, they are there.
As God today to guide your words to put you in the path of leaving positive fingerprints everywhere you go. No matter how you are feeling or what you may think about the other person you need to remember they are God’s masterpiece and we should only be speaking to them how God sees them.
Now, go and leave some fingerprints.
