For those who came about the things he was so passionate about, he will be remembered for his struggles for freedom, equality, truth, love, peace and justice. Fonder memories of him would be, for his inspiration of hope and life, for his entire journey of inspiration to humanity.
Mandiba, as he was popularly called, laid firm foundations upon which current and future generations of South Africans, would remain eternally grateful for.
He is considered the father of a democratic South Africa, who is widely admired for his ability to bring together a nation previously torn apart by apartheid, which was an affront to the most basic levels of human decency. And though he paid a bitter personal price, he came through it unbroken in mind, in spirit, and in compassion. He has inspired others by his various achievements, and also by his attitude and values. Without the changes he made, South Africans would have been living in a restricting and caged world.
