The vice-president of the company PAL-V, Mark Jennings-Bates, has announced the plans to fly about the globe on the giroplena of the PAL-V Liberty model. It is not experimental, but already production model which will go on retail next year. Just to the end of a travel which will take 90 days, but the pilot adventurer hopes to keep within two months.
The article is well written but what i really dislike about this news is it doesn't say anywhere if the car runs on electricity or hydrocarbons. Secondly if it does in fact run on hydrocarbon fuel then I've no interest in such thing because things like this have been made years ago already and have failed. It's much more like a drive-able copter than a car.
UBER has already announced it's introducing drones from year 2020 and onwards, which are electric and i think are way cooler, efficient and smart than this 'car'.
it's a gyrocopter... different than a "copter" and the main reason... actually the only reason this is not electric is because of range. This thing you can fill up and go 400-500 miles. Batteries are there yet. Also the design of a gyrocopter makes it very safe... on a drone, if a motor goes out, you're done. In a gyrocopter, if the motor goes, it just floats down. Safest way to to fly about!
@edwardseaton Thanks for the info, I didn't know much about it. The way you put it, it seems like a right move to travel on a long range vehicle like this. Also i did not consider it safe at first but you cleared that up.
I'm learning
