First of all, CNN is garbage and needs to just shut down, so I am okay with them laying off people. And second, yeah, most DEI hires were simply that. Most don't have the skills necessary to really effectively perform the job, or they are just filling a seat for some kind of demographic. It doesn't help that AI is going to take a TON of white collar style jobs.

If they aren't making money from the labor, then you cut the labor, it's plain and simple business. So I say whatever, people need to learn some real skills anyway, like how to build stuff, grow food, etc.

I am not a fan of any politician, but I know from his first term that things were way better off than they have been in the last 4 years. And now he is in with the experience from the first round. So this may be a good thing. People need to learn to be more independent and stop relying on these massive corporations to give us our lively hood. I say this as someone who worked for Apple for nearly 10 years and is so much happier being free and independent. It has taught me to use the resources around me to earn my living instead of running that corporate rat race they all want us to run so they can make money on us.
