Puppies!
Everyone likes puppies, right? Well, most of the time, anyway, but in this case, they were not wanted. We had our dogs tied up, and a local stray got one of our girls pregnant!
Where to house them?
Having a mom dog means we need a place for her to whelp her puppies and take care of them without interference. Luckily, we had extra fencing panels from when we bought them from the local scrap yard. The puppies came quicker than we thought they would, and we were forced to build a kennel in one day this weekend.
Start with the house...
A couple of weeks ago, we found a dog house for free on Facebook and went to get it. This gave us a place to start and affix the panels to. So we got to work clearing the leaves and stuff...
Strap it down!
We used plumbing strap to affix the panels to the doghouse and then wired the panels to the rest of the kennel we already had. Overall, it worked out really well, and our mama dog is happy with her pups.
Just a reminder that keeping your dog tied up doesn't mean you won't get puppies!
