The fact is that with out nation-states and the creation and protection of property rights it would be impossible to have progressed to the point we have as a society.

The system has deep and offensive corruption and flaws. But to support government isn't to be a mental slave. It's the acknowledgement that the world is a dangerous place and that empowering elected officials can bring order from chaos.

I agree that there are serious problems in our American government. But I also have experienced living in a country that doesn't have the same system. And, I choose America. Hopefully in the future, regular citizens have enough power to protect themselves from crime as a community, but in the world today, average people don't have enough power to defend themselves from organized crime. I'd rather pay taxes where at least they spend money on programs for the people, than pay a protection syndicate just to not steal all my property.

If you believe in the right of a human being to own land, then you are in favor of some kind of government. I believe in the right to own land.
