Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s “Non Retirement”
AKA: You're Going to Have to Pry This Black Robe Out of My Cold Dead Hands.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, in a rare wake up interview, made it plain this past week that she has no intention of retiring any time soon. She pointed to the retirement of her colleague, Justice Stephens, who has announced his retirement at 90, saying she has a way to go. Ginsberg is only 85.
Justice Ginsberg has been a thorn in the side of conservatives and makes no bones about her dislike of President Trump. Ginsberg has also made statements that call into question her fair and objective review of the Constitution and law, pulling some interpretations right out of the liberal library of imagined “rights”.
She has also been somewhat of an embarrassment with pictures of her sleeping during State of the Union speeches and even during case presentations on the Supreme Court.
Do you think she needs the additional five years just to wake up long enough, in spurts of consciousness, to process the retirement paperwork?

I’m not a fan of RBG. But if I were on the court, I would never retire. I’d leave that building in a box.
She seems to be heading that way.
It is a lifetime appointment so there’s not much we can do about it.
There is an out.

He was impeached on grounds of letting his partisan leanings affect his court decisions, but was acquitted by the Senate and remained in office.
Born near Princess Anne, Maryland, Chase established a legal practice in Annapolis, Maryland. He served in the Maryland General Assembly for several years and favored independence during the American Revolution.
