STEEM Pawned, Problem Solved!

Few days ago, I was need money. Really… really… really need it (Who’s not though?!). It’s really urgent and I can’t mention it here because it so personal. I felt like standing one inch near the cliff. I was tried to borrow money from some friends, no solution. Meanwhile friends around me (coincidentally) was as destitute as me. Even after call for help from all potential name on my phone list. Some were so honest because they explain that they has money but already allocated for another purpose.

That’s it. The point is, I have to face a blind alley spread around my sight. Suddenly I remember about my STEEM amount in my Steemit wallet, the rest of my asset. But I thought that sell it now, while the price is down, seems muff all of my works along more than 250 days. It’s not worth at all. I will lost my long term advantage while (hopefully) the price soared. Abruptly a bright light shining on my mind. What if someone out there eager to receive my STEEM as collateral of my debt? Certainly I’m talking about Steemians out there. If so, problem solved. “Does anyone would?” A question of doubt appear in my mind. “Who knows?!” I’m answering myself.

Isn’t Steemit a cryptocurrency-based platform social media? I don’t mean to examine Steemian social responsibilities to solve my problem. But I try to find out personally “Can Steemit solve my problem due to my activities on it?” I need to emphasize this point to eliminate presumption that I judge those Steemian who can’t afford their help to me at that time. It’s fully your rights whether to lend me some money or not, whether you chose to lend me or not, even if you could. No hard feeling on me. I’m also fully sure that all of my friends around me will help if they could. Moreover, they will lend me without STEEM as collateral.

Hence, if I succeed to ensure someone to help me with STEEM as collateral, this story might be solved another financial problem out there. So your hard work as content creator for several time will not seems useless according to the STEEM price nowadays (if you sell it).

Automatically, my brain eliminated non-Steemian name from the list. I’ll need a lot of effort and energy to ensure those whom don’t have any idea about cryptocurrency. Steemians name appeared. I was try to contact the first name. I assumed that he have enough money to lend. We’re never met before. But occasionally discuss a lot of things around cryptocurrency by WhatsApp messenger. He said that, “We are stand on similar situation!” and feel sorry that he can’t do any favor to me now. What can I say?! But then he recommend 2 names to me. Both Steemians with a lot of money. The problem is, I was never contact them in any way.

Then I try to call second name on my priority list. I start the conversation with questioning, “Do you think a STEEMIAN out there would lend me money with STEEM as collateral?”

“It’s hard to ensure that nowadays, Bro. STEEM price is really bad now,” says he. That’s true. No offense. No hard feeling. I try to find another name on the list in my mind. Again, few names was appeared. I knew that he just won runner-up of Aceh’s pantun* contest. The prize amount is huge compared to my needs.

“I’m so sorry, Bro. I don’t have money to lend now. I already bought some gold to prepare my marriage with the pantun’s prize money,” I was smile to heard his answer. Apparently he knew about what I had known about. He told the truth, because his answer remind me that soon after he won the pantun contest, one of our friend grab him to the gold shop, forced him to buy golden jewelry. That’s the way a friend support one each other, reminded him forcefully to preparing himself for the future; to avoid spending money for spree. And, that’s the way Acehnese male youth save their revenue; buying gold as the nest egg to prepare their marriage. One of Acehnese typical-classic-style to face the future, excluding me. LoL…

However, he reiterated similar recommendation like other Steemians that I ask before. In short, another potential Steemian! What a redundant! I became skeptical according these repetitive situation. Yet, I (again) let myself drifting on these flow before. On and on. I’d prepare myself to face similar answer from the next guy that he recommended to. The man that he recommended was around me at that time. I need 2 hours preparing myself to explain my condition. The amount is 800.000 (don’t shock, it’s Rupiah, not Dollar nor Poundsterling anyway). And then, I intimidated myself to ask him. At the beginning, I felt like sinister confessing what his guilty about. But, voila! Less than 3 seconds after my explanation, he said, “Yes!”
