I am living in part of the world that everybody has the rights to mind other people's business. Yeah privacy is something very exclusive here, and even the most expensive thing because not even rich people with money can buy. and the one that really annoy me is that i got so many complains and comments about the language i and my friends use for daily basis (As you know we were in the school with english as our native language). Yup i use english, or you can say singlish (singapore english), or whatever, it just my english with my javanese plus asian accent, some people here think and prefer if i using Indonesian or Javanese language just to proof that i do really love my country and not “sok Bule (Bule is foreigner with white skin like caucasian), and Sok Bule may be is like you act and speak the language like Bule while you are not Bule.
I wondering why people have to mock others who are trying to speak english or other foreign language with “Alaaah sok Bule lu!!”, “Sok keminggris lu!”, “Pergi aja sono dari Indo (just go away from Indonesia)!”, and again, the worst thing are people think that those are Indonesians who speak english for daily basis do not love Indonesia like they do just because of speaking english. cmonnnn people, Can’t you just simply think that they just want to improve their skills??
Ok i have an advices here to proof your nationalism like you said that you have to use Bahasa, then you have to say “baiklah instead of ok, “memesan instead of order, "makanan lingkaran yang terbentuk dari tepung yang ada dagingnya dan keju instead of pizza!!, also may be “anjing panas instead of Hotdog. And "ayam digiling sama tepung instead of chicken nugget. Selamat mencoba and good luck.
Also why do you have to laugh when people make grammatical mistake or when people you think use Alien accent when they speak or write? Don’t you know what you did/do will discourage them even more? Don’t you think its better to be kind than to be mean?
You don’t know that people who are speaking with asian english may be can speak so much better than you if they want but in fact they just feel more comfortable with their accent, and you never know may be they have written and posted some international scientific journal that you can ever imagine, while you just busy mocking and mind other people business!
After all don’t you know that the purpose of communication is understand the information no matter what the language you use, when we speak to native speakers, all that matters is they get what we are trying to say. in fact they don’t really care with grammatical errors. So why do you fellow Indonesians feel the need to correct our grammars, every single-fookin-time we converse, and really not in good way?
Yes people, we get it, your english is very very good, but do you know what is better? when you let people know their mistake kindly instead of MOCKINGLY.
If correcting and comment about other people make you feel superior and happy, i would love to know, who hurt you this bad you need to feel good for yourself by beating people down?
