RE: Menstrual cup: saingan baru pembalut dan tampon

in #indonesia8 years ago

I couldn't read your post since it's written in Indonesian. I just wanted to say that menstrual cup is awesome! It's so comfortable that sometimes you forget you are using it. And you are protecting the environment by using it. I am very happy with mine.

Yes, indeed. It's really awesome. I intentionally wrote it in Indonesian because it's still rather unfamiliar there and I see it's urgency considering our environmental problem and I just found out that it's no longer very expensive nor hard to find anymore. My friends have always brought some as gift whenever she went back home to Indonesian, and I plant to do it too for my next visit, but now it seems that it'S not so necessary anymore. I wish that this product would be more and more popular there.
Any little attempt to reduce some trash in Indonesia is always great.
The biggest obstacle there is always the misconception about virginity and hymen. ^_^

Yes, I know that there are many prejudices against it, because of course is something different. I am 30, and I have friends of my age who are very open-minded but still look me weird when I tell them I use the cup (even friends who use Tampax). Imagine my mom... the mere idea makes here disgusted. And people ask me about it, what you do if you are in a public place and you have to remove it? Things like that are their main concern. I can imagine that in other cultures and among younger girls there might be some concerns regarding virginity and hymen.
