Himantura oxyrhyncha is an endemic fish in Kalimantan whose existence is known only in the Kapuas River flow from the middle to the estuary. The high anthropogenic activity in the watershed (pollution, logging, transportation, etc.) and the attempt to catch fishermen against these fish species are both used as ornamental fish and consumption fish, causing the existence of the population in nature to be severely threatened.
